Solar module manufacturer Waaree Energies has secured a 350 MW order from AMPIN Energy Transition to supply high-efficiency G12R TOPCon modules for AMPIN’s upcoming solar projects across India.
Waaree Energies is expected to complete the deliveries by March 2026.
The company’s manufacturing capacity comprises approximately 16.7 GW of solar modules and 5.4 GW of solar cells. It has an order book of roughly 24 GW, worth approximately ₹470 billion (~$5.35 billion).
Recently, Waaree Energies received an order to supply 360 MW of modules from an undisclosed customer who develops, owns, and operates utility-scale solar and energy storage projects.
In October this year, Waaree secured separate orders to supply 220 MW, 210 MW, and 140 MW of solar modules from undisclosed customers engaged in owning, developing, and operating renewable power projects in India.
The company’s wholly owned subsidiary, Waaree Solar Americas, also received orders to supply 122 MW modules from a developer and owner-operator of utility-scale solar and energy storage projects across the U.S.
The company is planning new facilities for 3 GW of modules at Samakhiali, Gujarat; 3 GW of modules in Gujarat, Tamil Nadu, or any other location; 6 GW of solar cells at Unn, Gujarat; and 6 GW of ingots and wafers at Nagpur, Maharashtra.
India added 44.2 GW of solar module capacity and 7.5 GW of solar cell capacity in the first half (1H) of 2025, according to the recently released Mercom India research report, “State of Solar PV Manufacturing in India 1H 2025.”
The manufacturing capacity additions in 1H 2025 were primarily driven by strong demand from the large-scale solar project pipeline of 186 GW between 2025 and 2027.
Module manufacturing capacity also increased due to the 2030 solar installation targets and policy-driven domestic demand for solar modules compliant with the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.
