Türkiye’s Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources has launched a new round of Renewable Energy Resource Area (YEKA) tenders, offering 2.4 GW of renewable energy connection capacity across 21 solar and wind tenders.

Bids must be submitted by October 13, 2026.

The latest round includes 14 solar tenders with a total capacity of 900 MW and seven wind tenders totaling 500 MW.

The ceiling price for all 21 tenders starts at €0.032 (~$0.037)/kWh. The base price is €0.0325 (~$0.037)/kWh for solar projects and €0.035 (~$0.04)/kWh for wind projects.

The Ministry added that if bidding reaches the base price across all competitions, the contribution per megawatt will increase, starting at €10,000 (~$11,407).

Electricity generated by the awarded solar projects may be sold in the free market for 60 months from the contract signing date, while wind projects may sell electricity in the free market for 72 months. A 20-year electricity purchase period will begin after the free-market sales period ends for both project types.

The Ministry said that tenders under YEKA total 7.8 GW in capacity to date, including 3.8 GW in 2025. Türkiye plans to continue holding at least 2 GW of solar and wind tenders each year.

The Ministry has issued 14 solar tenders across the competition sites of Ankara 1, Ankara 2, Batman, Denizli, Konya, Malatya 1, Malatya 2, Mardin 1, Mardin 2, Diyarbakir, Elazig, and Kahramanmaras 1, 2, and 3. The seven wind competition sites are Sivas, Balikesir 1-4, Manisa, and Kutahya. Individual project capacities will range from 25 MW to 320 MW.

Turkey’s installed power capacity exceeds 125 GW, of which renewable energy accounts for 78 GW, according to Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Alparslan Bayraktar.

This June, Türkiye secured €400 million ($468.4 million) in World Bank-backed financing to accelerate investments in wind, solar, and battery storage.

Last November, the Ministry received 77 applications from 38 companies for YEKA GES-2025 solar power auctions, which will allocate a total capacity of 650 MW across seven provinces.

In February 2025, Türkiye awarded 800 MW of solar capacity under the YEKA program.
