THDC India Floats Tender for 53.9 MW Solar Projects in Karnataka

THDC India has invited bids to develop a 53.9 MW ground-mounted solar project at Karnataka Power Corporation’s thermal power project in Raichur, Karnataka.
The last date to submit bids is August 25, 2025. Bids will be opened on August 26.
Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹44 million (~$502,102).
The estimated project cost of $2.2 billion (~$25 million).
The project must be completed in 12 months.
The scope of work covers the design, engineering, procurement, supply of equipment and materials, including solar modules, testing, and commissioning of the solar project. It also includes operation and maintenance for three years.
Bidders must secure permits, licenses, and insurance for all installations. The project covers the development of power evacuation infrastructure, including laying of transmission lines, and development of associated bays at the substation.
Bidders must use modules from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers. They must procure solar modules and cells from Class I local suppliers.
They must have executed engineering procurement and construction (EPC) of ground-mounted solar power projects of at least 40 MW in the last seven financial years. The projects must be operational for at least six years.
Alternatively, they must have executed EPC of at least two grid-connected solar power projects of at least 25 MW, or three projects of 20 MW, in the last seven financial years. The projects must have been operational for at least six months.
Bidders must have a minimum annual turnover of at least ₹580 million (~$6.6 million) in the last three financial years.
They must have a net worth of at least 100% of the bidder’s paid-up share capital.
Only N-type, TOPCon, or bifacial modules of at least 580 Wp must be used in the project.
The project must maintain a minimum performance ratio of 79.83% and a minimum capacity utilization factor of 26.26%.
In January 2025, THDC India invited bids to set up 100.1 MW/135 MWp ground-mounted solar power projects at Karnataka Power Corporation’s thermal projects in Bellary and Raichur, Karnataka.
