Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL), a joint venture between the center and the Rajasthan government, has invited bids for the supply of 5,000 monocrystalline passivated emitter and rear cell (PERC) solar cells of 5.8 W capacity.

The last date to submit the bids is December 16, 2020, and the opening of bids will take place on December 17, 2020.

The cells should be 158.75*158.75 ± 1.0 mm or 156.75*156.75 ± 1.0 mm in dimensions. The 5.8 W cells must be five busbars long, and the thickness of the cells should be 190 +/- 30 µm in thickness.

The cells should be free from any crack or pinholes, edge chipping, smudges of paste on the front side of the cell, and visible mismatch in the cell’s color or pattern.

According to the bidding documents, any bidder from a country that shares a land border with India will be eligible to submit the bid subject to the condition that the bidder is registered with a competent authority.

The vendors who have not supplied these cells earlier should submit a sample of 150 solar cells of the given watt capacity free of cost to REIL for evaluation and acceptance before the tender’s due date. Only those vendors whose samples qualify in the acceptance criteria will be considered for selection.

In the other tender, REIL has invited bids for the supply of 100,000 multicrystalline silicon solar cells of 4.50 W capacity and 100,000 multicrystalline silicon solar cells of 4.60 W capacity.

The last date to submit the bids is December 23, 2020, and the opening of bids will take place on December 24, 2020.

The cells should be 156*156 ± 1.0mm / 156.75*156.75 ± 1.0 mm in dimensions for cells of capacity greater than 4.50 W. The cells must be four to five busbars long, and the thickness of the cells should be 200 +/- 20 µm in thickness.

The vendors who have not supplied these cells earlier should submit a sample of 140 cells of each watt capacity free of cost to REIL for evaluation and acceptance before the tender’s due date. Only those vendors whose samples meet the acceptance criteria will be considered for selection.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, REIL has so far floated tenders for 5.55 million solar cells.

In October this year, REIL issued a tender for 200,000 multicrystalline silicon solar cells. The company sought the supply of 100,000 each of 4.5W and 4.6W solar cells.

Earlier, REIL had issued a tender for the supply of 150,000 solar cells. It sought 50,000 each of 5W bifacial solar cells, 7W monocrystalline passivated emitter and rear cells (PERC), and 10W mono PERC cells.

Previously, Mercom reported that REIL had issued a notice inviting tender for the supply of 600,000 multicrystalline solar cells with wattages of 4.5W, 4.6W, and 4.67W. The tender was floated for 200,000 solar cells for each wattage category.
