The Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL) has invited bids to supply 200,000 monocrystalline or multicrystalline silicon solar cells of 4.57 W.

The last date to submit the bids is December 23, 2021. Bids will be opened on the next day.

The tender is to supply five busbar monocrystalline or multicrystalline silicon solar cells. The cells must be in the dimension of 156*156 ± 1.0 mm or 156.75*156.75 ± 1.0 mm. The thickness of the solar cells must be 200 +/- 20 µm.

Bidders are not required to furnish any earnest money deposit (EMD) for this tender.

The cells should be free of cracks, holes, edge chipping, cuts, spots, marks, missing gridlines, mechanical damage, patches, or color and pattern mismatches.

The vendor must supply solar cells in boxes of 100, with one box containing solar cells in the power band of 0.05 W. The total quantity must be supplied in a lot of 100,000 each within two weeks from the delivery clearance.

Vendors who have not supplied these cells earlier should submit a sample of 140 solar cells free of cost to REIL for evaluation and acceptance before the due date of tender. REIL will consider new vendors for trial orders subject to the approval of samples by REIL and suitability of terms and conditions.

REIL said that 25% of the tendered quantity had been earmarked for micro and small enterprise (MSE) suppliers. Of this 25% earmarked quantity, 20% has been allocated for procurement from MSEs owned by Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs.

If any MSE vendor quotes within the price band of the lowest bid (L1) + 15% and accepts the L1 price, the vendor will be allowed to supply the portion of the requirement. In the case of more than one such MSE vendor, the supply will be shared proportionately.

If the vendor fails to deliver solar cells by the stipulated date, liquidated damages at 1% of the value of the items weekly, subject to a maximum of 10% of the price of each unit so delayed, will accrue.

In October 2021, REIL invited bids to supply 1 million monocrystalline or multicrystalline silicon solar cells of wattage output 4.67 W.

Mercom had earlier reported that REIL floated a tender for 200,000 mono or multicrystalline silicon solar cells of 4.57 W.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, REIL has floated tender for 8.24 million solar cells to date.
