Tata Power-D, a licensed electricity distribution company and a part of Tata Power, has invited bids to supply 250 MW of firm and dispatchable renewable energy from projects integrated with energy storage systems (ESS) on a build-own-operate basis.
Renewable energy sources can include solar, wind, or other sources. However, all projects must incorporate an ESS charged exclusively by renewable energy.
Bids must be submitted by June 6, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.
Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹928,000 (~$11,464)/MW for solar projects, ₹1.26 million (~$15,089.82)/MW for wind or other renewable energy projects, and ₹366,000 (~$4,272)/MWh for the tender’s ESS component.
They must also submit a tender document fee of ₹25,000 (~$292) plus 18% GST and a bid processing fee of ₹200,000 (~$2,334) plus 18% GST per project.
The bid capacity is 50 MW, with a relaxed minimum of 25 MW for bidders proposing projects in the northeastern states or within Maharashtra’s intrastate transmission system (InSTS).
Selected bidders must sign a 25-year power purchase agreement.
Bidders can propose their technology choices during bid submission, with the flexibility to confirm or change the technology, including the ESS technology.
Bidders must have a minimum net worth of ₹12.26 million (~$143,094)/MW of the quoted capacity on the last date of the previous financial year or at least seven days before the bid submission deadline.
In January this year, Tata Power Trading Company, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Tata Power, issued an expression of interest from consumers, distribution utilities, and commercial and industrial entities for the procurement of up to 500 MW of renewable energy (solar, wind, hybrid, hydro) or green attributes up to 25 years.
