					</table><p>Uttar Pradesh Metro Rail Corporation (<a href="https://upmetrorail.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">UPMRCL</a>) has invited bids to implement a 5 MW rooftop solar project for stations, depots, and other metro sites.</p>
<p>Bids must be submitted by May 30, 2025. Bids will be opened on May 31.</p>
<p>Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹4.08 million (~$48,314) and a tender document fee of ₹23,600 (~$279.31).</p>
<p>The scope of work entails the design, engineering, storage, civil work, erection, testing, and commissioning of the project. It also includes conducting detailed surveys for site identification and providing comprehensive operations and maintenance services for 25 years.</p>
<p>The project’s estimated cost is ₹204.2 million (~$2.41 million).</p>
<p>Selected bidders must complete the project within 24 months of the letter of award. Project commissioning delays will attract daily liquidated damages of 10% of the project cost.</p>
<p>Bidders can be from any country. They can be a single entity, joint venture, consortium, or association.</p>
<p>They must have had an annual average turnover of ₹81.6 million (~$965,350) in the last five years. They must also have a minimum net worth of ₹20.42 million (~$241,574).</p>
<p>In January last year, UPMRCL <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/uttar-pradesh-metro-rooftop-solar" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to install and commission 1 MW of rooftop solar power projects on stations and PAC depot of the Agra Metro Project under the renewable energy service company (RESCO) model. The selected installers must oversee the project’s comprehensive operation and maintenance for 25 years.</p>
<p>In March 2024, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/delhi-metro-issues-tender-rooftop-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for 3.5 MW rooftop solar projects on its under-construction Phase-IV network stations under the RESCO model.</p>
<p>In the same month, Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/mumbai-metro-rooftop-solar-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to install 2.8 MW of rooftop solar systems and associated support structure works on Aarey station and depot buildings of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 project. The size of each project could have been in the range of 5 kW to 1 MW or more.</p>

<p>The selected installers must oversee the project’s comprehensive operation and maintenance for 25 years.</p>
<p>The work must be completed within six months of receiving the letter of award.</p>
<p>The project’s estimated cost is ₹35.8 million (~$431,368).</p>
<p>The last day to submit the bids is February 20, 2024. Bids will be opened the next day.</p>
<p>Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹716,000 (~$8,627). Selected bidders must submit 10% of the project&#8217;s cost as a performance bank guarantee.</p>
<p>The maximum allowable levelized tariff under the tender is ₹4.5 (~$0.054)/kWh.</p>
<p>The size of each project may range from 10 kWp to 400 kWp or more. Each rooftop unit can connect separately to the grid and may have individual energy meters.</p>
<p>Bidders should have installed and commissioned grid-connected solar projects of a minimum capacity of 500 kW during the last ten years. They must have also commissioned rooftop solar projects of a minimum of 125 kW in the last ten years.</p>
<p>They must have an average annual turnover of ₹10.7 million (~$128,928) in the last three financial years. Their net worth should be positive in the last two financial years.</p>
<p>Bidders must have liquidity equal to the cash flow requirement of ₹10.25 million (~$128,928).</p>
<p>The projects must have a minimum capacity utilization factor of 12% throughout the 25 years.</p>
<p>If the contractor fails to complete the work on time, liquidated damages at 0.5% per week of the contract value of work for every week of delay, subject to a maximum of 10% of the contract value, will apply.</p>
<p>The predicted electrical degradation of power generated should not exceed 20% of the minimum rated power over the 25 years and not more than 10% after the first ten years of the full rated original output.</p>
<p>In September, Chennai Metro Rail <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/chennai-metro-3-mw-rooftop-solar/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids to commission 3 MW of rooftop solar projects on elevated structures in parking and open spaces at Chennai Metro’s Phase 1 and its extension stations.</p>

<p>The successful bidder will also have to take care of the operation and maintenance of the project for five years.</p>
<p>The estimated cost of the project is ₹40 million (~$502,052), and it must be completed within six months from the letter of award.</p>
<p>The last date to submit the bids is September 28, 2022. Bids will be opened the following day.</p>
<p>The successful bidder must furnish an amount equivalent to 3% of the contract value within 30 days of the acceptance letter.</p>
<p>The size of each project should be in the range of 10 kW to 400 kW or more on each rooftop unit and can separately connect with the grid and may have separate energy meters.</p>
<p>Bidders should have successfully executed one similar work of value greater than ₹32 million (~$401,642) or 800 kW, or two similar works, each of value greater than ₹20 million (~$251,026) or 500 kW, or three similar works, each of value greater than ₹16 million (~$200,821) or 400 kW.</p>
<p>Bidders should have liquidity equal to ₹11.4 million (~$143,085) for the contract. They must have a positive net worth in the last two financial years. Their average annual turnover in the last five financial years should be at least ₹64 million (~$803,283).</p>
<p>The successful bidder should ensure the project&#8217;s minimum capacity utilization factor (CUF) of 12%.</p>
<p>If the contractor fails to complete the work on time, liquidated damages at 0.5% per week of the contract value of work for every week of delay, subject to a maximum of 10% of the contract value, will apply.</p>

<p>Earlier, the Uttar Pradesh Electricity Regulatory Commission had <a href="https://mercomindia.com/uperc-noida-metro-install-rooftop-solar-net-metering/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">allowed</a> the Noida Metro Rail Corporation to install 10 MW of rooftop solar power projects with a net metering facility.</p>
