					</table><p>The <strong>Iraqi Ministry of Oil </strong><a href="https://www.enerdata.net/publications/daily-energy-news/iraq-moves-ahead-125-gw-solar-project-and-517-mcmyear-gas-field.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> an agreement with <strong>TotalEnergies </strong>and<strong> QatarEnergy</strong> to develop a 1.25 GW solar project as part of the Gas Growth Integrated Project in the country&#8217;s Basra region. Both companies would equally own the project, and it will consist of two million bifacial solar panels mounted on single-axis trackers to be installed in five 250 MW phases to come online between 2025 and 2027. Once completely operational, the solar project is expected to generate up to 1.25 GW of energy<strong>. </strong>The project will supply clean energy to approximately 350,000 homes in southern Iraq.</p>
<p>The <strong>International Finance Corporation (IFC)</strong> <a href="https://www.zawya.com/en/projects/industry/ifc-to-support-usps-16bln-solar-polysilicon-project-in-oman-p9byq8s8" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> an agreement with <strong>Oman-based United Solar Polysilicon </strong>to support its $1.6 billion greenfield polysilicon facility. It will be built in Oman&#8217;s Sohar Port and Freezone and have an annual production capacity of 100,000 tons. <strong>Future Fund Oman</strong> invested $156 million in the project. The project has reached the installation phase.</p>
<p><strong>Algeria</strong> <a href="https://www.zawya.com/en/projects/utilities/algeria-launches-renewable-energy-hydrogen-plan-n2di1ny2" target="_blank" rel="noopener">plans</a> to develop renewable energy and green hydrogen projects to reduce its reliance on conventional energy sources and save fossil fuels for exports. The <strong>European Union </strong>and the<strong> German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development</strong> will fund the plan, which costs roughly €28 million ($32 million). The plan aims to establish a national database to assess green hydrogen potential and implement monitoring tools to reduce emissions and enhance energy efficiency. Algeria aims to achieve 27% renewable energy in its energy mix by 2026 and install 15 GW by 2030.</p>
<p><strong>Shanghai Electric</strong>, a power generation and electrical equipment manufacturing company, <a href="https://www.zawya.com/en/business/energy/shanghai-electric-in-deal-to-develop-2gw-saudi-pv-plant-hlzlg2ai" target="_blank" rel="noopener">entered</a> an agreement with <strong>Abu Dhabi-based Masdar</strong> for its Sadavi solar project. The project is part of Round 5 of Saudi Arabia&#8217;s National Renewable Energy Program. It is expected to deliver a total capacity of 2,000 MW. On completion, it will become Shanghai Electric&#8217;s biggest EPC project.</p>

					</table><p>Adani Green Energy (<a href="https://www.adanigreenenergy.com/about-us" target="_blank" rel="noopener">AGEL</a>) has redeemed $750 million 4.375% Holdco Notes through a fully funded redemption reserve account maintained since January 2024.</p>
<p>In January 2024, AGEL announced its full support for backing the Holdco Notes. This entails establishing a fully funded redemption reserve account eight months before the redemption date. The account will facilitate the complete redemption of Holdco Notes upon maturity in accordance with relevant guidelines.</p>
<p>The Holdco Notes supported the company&#8217;s high-growth objectives. During the period, AGEL&#8217;s capacity energy increased more than three times, from 3.5 GW to 11.2 GW, registering a compounded annual growth rate of 48%.</p>
<p>The company&#8217;s overall capex program remains funded through operational assets cash flow. It plans to achieve its goal of 50 GW capacity by the financial year 2030.</p>
<p>AGEL&#8217;s promoters agreed to subscribe to a preferential warrant totaling ₹93.5 billion (~$1.11 billion) in December 2023. Of this amount, ₹70.13 billion (~$835 million) will be available to AGEL to fund accelerated capital expenditure requirements.</p>
<p>The company recently also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/adani-greens-q1-fy-2025-revenue-rises" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> that its revenue surged by 24% year-over-year to ₹25.28 billion (~$301 million) in the first quarter of financial year 2025, driven primarily by capacity additions. The revenue growth was accompanied by a 23% increase in earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization (EBITDA), which reached ₹23.74 billion (~$283 million) at an EBITDA margin of 92.6%.</p>
<p>The company also reported a 32% jump in cash profit, which climbed to ₹13.90 billion (~$166 million), underpinned by AGEL&#8217;s expanding operational footprint, with its capacity growing by 31% to reach 10,934 MW.</p>
<p>Adani Green also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/adani-green-totalenergies-form-jv" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> a joint venture with TotalEnergies to manage a portfolio of 1,150 MW solar projects at the Khavda renewable energy project in Gujarat. While AGEL plans to contribute its current assets to the projects, TotalEnergies will invest $444 million to speed up its development.</p>
<p>The electricity generated from the projects will be sold through power purchase agreements with Solar Energy Corporation of India and sales in the wholesale market.</p>

<p><strong> </strong><strong>NHPC and Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL) </strong><a href="https://www.bseindia.com/xml-data/corpfiling/AttachLive/e0c030b7-e422-41a3-875b-db58dc5368a5.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>signed</strong></a><strong> a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to set up a gigawatt-scale vertically integrated solar manufacturing unit.</strong> The MoU was signed by Biswajit Basu, Director (Projects), NHPC and Vinay Kumar Katyal, Director (Bangalore Complex), BEL.</p>
<p><strong>The Gujarat Electricity Regulatory Commission (</strong><a href="https://gercin.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>GERC</strong></a><strong>) adopted a tariff of ₹2.40 (~$0.03)/kWh for the feeder level solarization conducted by the Paschim Gujarat Vij Company (</strong><a href="https://www.pgvcl.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>PGVCL</strong></a><strong>) </strong>under Component C of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Urja Suraksha evam Utthaan Mahabhiyan (PM-KUSUM). PGVCL had sought approval of the tariff discovered under the tariff-based competitive bidding process for the feeder level solarization. The tender of 1.125 MW was issued in February 2022, of which 1.206 MW has been awarded to JJ PV Solar. The Commission directed PGVCL to sign the power purchase agreement with JJ PV Solar.</p>
<p><strong>The Hindustan Petroleum Corporation (HPCL) </strong><a href="https://www.pib.gov.in/PressReleasePage.aspx?PRID=1853873" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>commenced</strong></a><strong> its cow dung-to-compressed biogas project at Sanchore, in Rajasthan.</strong> This will be HPCL&#8217;s first project under the waste-to-energy portfolio. The plant will utilize 100 tons of dung per day to produce biogas, which can be used as automotive fuel. The project is proposed to be commissioned in a year. The project is being developed under the GOBAR-Dhan program launched by the government of India in April 2018 as a part of the biodegradable waste management component under the Swachh Bharat Mission (Grameen).</p>
<p><strong>TotalEnergies and its partner SSE Renewables </strong><a href="https://totalenergies.com/media/news/press-releases/first-power-scotlands-largest-offshore-wind-farm" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> the first power generation from the Seagreen offshore wind farm, 27 km off the coast of Angus in Scotland</strong>. The first turbine out of 114 was commissioned this week. The aim is for the 1,075 MW farm to be fully operational in the first half of 2023. The $4.3 billion Seagreen project will be Scotland&#8217;s largest offshore wind farm and the world&#8217;s deepest fixed bottom wind farm as it is being developed in 59 meters of water depth. TotalEnergies had entered into an agreement with SSE Renewables to acquire a 51% stake in the Seagreen project in June 2020.</p>
<p><strong>Fortescue Future Industries </strong><a href="https://ffi.com.au/news/fortescue-future-industries-to-work-with-miawpukek-first-nation-on-proposed-newfoundland-and-labrador-green-hydrogen-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>signed</strong></a><strong> an MoU with Miawpukek First Nation, paving the way for the two to work together on a proposed hydrogen project in Newfoundland and Labrador on the island portion of the Canadian province</strong>. Project Lynx, to be developed in and around the Stephenville, St. George&#8217;s and Channel-Port Aux Basques areas, could produce 700,000 to 900,000 tons of green ammonia annually and create up to 2,000 jobs in the province. The non-binding MoU provides a framework for discussions and planning that will allow partners to evaluate the potential for hydrogen production in Newfoundland for export to Europe.</p>
<p><strong>BayWa r.e. has been </strong><a href="https://www.baywa-re.com/en/news/details/baywa-re-secures-innovative-solar-project-in-france" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>selected</strong></a><strong> by the Community of Communes of Haute-Saintonge to implement an ambitious energy transition project in southwest France.</strong> The project will combine solar power production with a battery storage system. Green hydrogen production will also be added to the local offtake, with confirmed utilization opportunities. The project will implement a holistic approach to local energy transition and support the region&#8217;s low carbon journey.</p>
