					</table><p><a href="https://aetrafo.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Atlanta Electricals</a> has secured multiple power transformer supply contracts, valued at ₹2.88 billion (~$31.56 million), from Karnataka Power Transmission Corporation (<a href="https://kptcl.karnataka.gov.in/en" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KPTCL</a>) and <a href="https://www.dattainfra.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Datta Power Infra</a>, an independent power producer executing projects for <a href="https://ntpc.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NTPC</a>. The contracts are scheduled to be executed over the next 12 months.</p>
<p>Out of the total order value, two orders worth ₹1.46 billion (~$16 million) have been received from KPTCL. These contracts involve the supply of 13 high-capacity power transformers along with associated fire protection systems.</p>
<p>The order includes six units of 100 MVA, 220/110 kV power transformers and seven units of 150 MVA, 220/66 kV power transformers. Atlanta Electricals will also supply 11 nitrogen injection fire protection systems as part of the KPTCL orders.</p>
<p>These systems are designed to enhance transformer safety by preventing fire-related damage and are increasingly mandated in high-capacity transmission installations.</p>
<p>The remaining three orders, totaling ₹1.42 billion (~$15.56 million), have been awarded by Datta Power Infra. These projects are located in Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, and Andhra Pradesh.</p>
<p>Under these contracts, Atlanta Electricals will supply 15 power transformers, comprising ten units of 125 MVA, 220 kV power transformers and five units of 100 MVA, 220/33 kV power transformers.</p>
<p>Atlanta Electricals manufactures a broad range of transformers, with capacities ranging from 5 MVA/11 kV to 500 MVA/765 kV. Its portfolio includes power transformers, auto transformers, inverter-duty transformers, furnace transformers, generator transformers, and special-duty transformers, manufactured at its five in Gujarat and Karnataka.</p>
<p>The company has cumulatively supplied over 78,000 MVA capacity and more than 4,000 transformers, with manufacturing capability extending up to 200 MVA in the 220 kV class and an installed capacity of 16,740 MVA in this segment.</p>
<p>The company has developed a product portfolio specifically aligned with renewable energy requirements, manufacturing inverter duty transformers critical for solar photovoltaic plants, wind energy projects, and grid integration of renewable power.</p>
<p>To support growing renewable demand, the company has expanded its total manufacturing capacity to 63,060 MVA, representing nearly a fourfold increase over the past 18 months, enabling higher-volume execution of renewable transformer orders and large utility-scale projects.</p>
<p>Recently, the Central Electricity Authority (CEA) <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/cea-flags-non-standard-transformer-ratings-in-state-utility-tenders" target="_blank" rel="noopener">directed</a> all state power utilities to strictly follow the ratings prescribed by it while floating tenders for transformers with a minimum voltage class of 66 kV.</p>
<p>Transmission utilities had <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/seventeen-power-transformers-fail-in-1h-2025-many-early-in-operation" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> 17 failures of 220 kV and above power transformers between January and June 2025, according to a CEA report. A large number of transformer failure incidents remain unreported, as many state and central transmission utilities and private utilities have failed to share data.</p>


Atlanta Wins ₹2.88 Billion Transformer Orders from KPTCL, Datta Power

					</table><p>Module Manufacturer <a href="https://alpexsolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Alpex Solar</a> has received an order for the supply of solar modules, valued at ₹2.15 billion (~$25.9 million) from an Indian industrial entity.</p>
<p>The module supply must be completed in six months.</p>
<p>Alpex Solar is currently executing a large-scale expansion program, which is expected to be fully operational in the financial year (FY) 2026–27.</p>
<p>As part of this plan, the company will commission 2.4 GW of solar module manufacturing capacity during the current fiscal year, with overall module capacity targeted at 3.6 GW.</p>
<p>In addition, Alpex has upgraded its proposed solar cell manufacturing project from Mono PERC technology to advanced TOPCon technology, with a total targeted capacity of 2.2 GW.</p>
<p>Trial production for Phase I of the TOPCon solar cell facility, with a capacity of 1.4 GW, is scheduled to commence in the first quarter of FY 2025–26, while Phase II, comprising an additional 800 MW, is expected to go into production within six months thereafter.</p>
<p>Once completed, the company will operate 2.2 GW of TOPCon solar cell capacity and 12,000 metric tons per annum of aluminum frame manufacturing capacity, in addition to modules, all of which are planned to be operational in FY 2026–27.</p>
<p>Alongside manufacturing, Alpex Solar has diversified operations across the solar value chain, with targeted capacities of 150 MW in engineering, procurement, and construction services and 100 MW in independent power production. The company has also installed over 21,000 solar water pumps across various regions in India, reflecting its execution capabilities in decentralized solar applications.</p>
<p>Last December,  Alpex Solar’s board of directors <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/alpex-solar-to-raise-%E2%82%B91-25-billion-through-issue-of-debentures/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">approved</a> raising ₹1.25 billion (~$13.8 million) through the issuance of secured, redeemable, unlisted, unrated, and non-convertible debentures.</p>
<p>In November 2025, Alpex Solar <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/alpex-to-manufacture-2-2-gw-of-topcon-solar-cells-in-uttar-pradesh-plant" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that it would invest ₹31.36 billion (~$353.77 million) to upgrade its 2.2 GW cell manufacturing facility from Mono PERC to TOPCon in Kosi Kotwan, Uttar Pradesh.</p>

Alpex Solar Wins ₹2.15 Billion Solar Module Supply Order

					</table><p>Gujarat-based solar module manufacturer <a href="https://solex.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Solex Energy</a> has secured a work order worth ₹2.76 billion (~$30.5 million) to supply 615 Wp N-type TOPCon and 620 Wp glass-to-glass solar modules from an independent power producer.</p>
<p>The modules must be supplied by May 2026.</p>
<p>In October 2025, Solex <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/solex-energy-to-supply-solar-modules-to-zelestra-group-for-%E2%82%B95-44-billion" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> a work order worth over ₹5.44 billion (~$61.33 million) from the Spain-based renewable energy project developer Zelestra Group to manufacture and supply N-Type TOPCon 615/620Wp glass-to-glass solar modules. The order will be completed in tranches by February and November 2026.</p>
<p>In the first half of the financial year 2026, it <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/solex-energys-revenue-up-52-yoy-to-%E2%82%B94-billion-in-h1-fy2026" target="_blank" rel="noopener">reported</a> a 52% year-over-year revenue growth of ₹4.15 billion (~$46.83 million)  from ₹2.73 billion (~$30.81 million). The growth was driven by expansion across its manufacturing and EPC business, an increase in demand across both domestic and international markets, and a rapidly expanding project portfolio.</p>
<p>Apart from manufacturing modules, Solex also provides engineering, procurement, and construction services for the renewable energy sector.</p>
<p>Solex said it is diversifying its customer portfolio, serving government agencies, public sector undertakings, corporate clients, and global partners across more than 20 Indian states and several international markets.</p>
<p>The company <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/solex-to-expand-module-manufacturing-capacity-by-2-2-gw" target="_blank" rel="noopener">operates</a> a fully automated 4 GW solar manufacturing facility at Tadkeshwar, near Surat in Gujarat, which will integrate advanced robotics, precision engineering, and quality systems to manufacture high-efficiency solar modules with power ratings exceeding 600 W.</p>
<p>During FY 2026, Solex commenced commercial production of 800 MW at this facility, increasing its total operational capacity to 1.5 GW. It has also launched a 2.5 GW expansion project, which is currently in the testing phase. Additionally, Solex plans another 2.5 GW expansion by the end of FY 2026, bringing its total installed capacity to 6.5 GW.</p>
<p>The company plans to achieve 10 GW of solar module and 10 GW of solar cell manufacturing capacity by 2030.</p>
<p>In the background of the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy <a href="https://mercomindia.com/mnre-proposes-almm-for-wafers-ingots-in-solar-backward-integration-push" target="_blank" rel="noopener">proposing</a> the Approved List for Models and Manufacturers for ingots and wafers, Solex is exploring upstream integration through wafer and ingot manufacturing to establish a fully integrated solar value chain in India.</p>


Solex Energy Secures ₹2.76 Billion Module Supply Order

					</table><p><a href="https://www.envision-energy.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Envision Energy India</a> has signed an agreement with Evren to supply around 152 wind turbine generators (WTG) of its EN 156/3.3 MW turbine platform, totaling 501.6 MW.</p>
<p>Evren will deploy these wind turbines in Andhra Pradesh.</p>
<p>Envision’s wind turbines have a 156-meter rotor diameter and a 140-meter hub height. This 3.3 MW turbine platform has been deployed in markets of the Middle East and North Africa region, Southeast Asia, and China, besides 2.5 GW operational in India.</p>
<p>Evren, backed by Brookfield Global Transition Fund, aims to develop over 10 GW of renewable energy assets across solar, wind, and battery storage in key states like Rajasthan and Andhra Pradesh.</p>
<p>Recently, Envision Energy India <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/envision-to-supply-wind-turbine-generators-for-serenticas-560-mw-wind-project/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">won</a> an order to supply WTGs for Serentica Renewables‘ 560 MW wind project in India. The project will utilize Envision’s WTGs, each with a 5 MW rated capacity. Envision Energy will supply the WTGs to Serentica by February 2026.</p>
<p>In September, Envision Energy <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/envision-breaks-ground-on-2-gw-blade-manufacturing-facility-in-gujarat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">broke</a> ground on its 2 GW blade manufacturing facility for wind turbines in Kalyangadh, Ahmedabad District, in Gujarat. The facility will manufacture up to 1,500 blades annually using six molds and will be equipped to produce blades for both 3.3 MW and 5 MW wind turbine platforms. This is Envision’s third manufacturing facility in India, developed by DA Group and constructed by Ashwika Warehousing.</p>
<p>Apart from manufacturing wind components, Envision Energy is also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/wind-developers-struggle-with-long-waits-for-ppas-and-payment-releases-interview" target="_blank" rel="noopener">foraying</a> into battery energy storage systems and green hydrogen.</p>
<p>Envision Energy India has an order book exceeding 16 GW and has developed more than 4.5 GW of wind projects in India. Its total commissioned capacity of energy projects in the country stands at over 2.5 GW.</p>
<p>According to Mercom Research, India <a href="https://mercomindia.com/indias-wind-energy-installations-surge-113-in-q2-2025" target="_blank" rel="noopener">added</a> 1.6 GW of wind energy capacity in the second quarter of 2025, a 113% year-over-year increase from 769 MW.</p>


Envision Wins 501.6 MW Wind Turbine Generator Order from Evren

					</table><p>SJVN Green Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of <a href="https://sjvn.nic.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">SJVN</a>, has invited bids for the manufacturing and supply of solar modules of a 1,960 MW<sub>dc</sub> capacity to be used in solar power projects to be installed in various states of India.</p>
<p>Projects 1 and 2 will have a capacity of 700 MW<sub>dc</sub> each, while Projects 3 and 4 will have a capacity of 280 MW<sub>dc</sub> each.</p>
<p>The last date for the submission of bids is March 11, 2024. Bid openings will be notified to techno-commercially qualified bidders later.</p>
<p>Bidders have to pay ₹5,900 (~$71.07) as cost of the bid document.</p>
<p>Bidders must adhere to eligibility criteria when quoting for projects without splitting them. The maximum capacity assigned to a single bidder should not exceed 700 MW.</p>
<p>Bidders must have a track record of manufacturing and supplying solar photovoltaic modules with a cumulative capacity of 30 MW or more in the seven years leading up to the month preceding the tender issuance.</p>
<p>Additionally, at least one supply order within this period should be for modules with a capacity of 10 MW or more.</p>
<p>Only supply orders with a minimum capacity of 5 MW or more will be considered.</p>
<p>Bidders must provide evidence of in-house manufacturing capabilities for solar modules, including relevant registration and certification documents. Submission of the letter of award, purchase order, agreement, or supply order, along with a certificate confirming successful completion issued by the client, is mandatory.</p>
<p>They must demonstrate an annual average turnover of ₹3 million (~$36,137)/MW for the total quoted capacity for the last three financial years.</p>
<p>The net worth of the bidders must be positive in the immediately preceding financial year. Additionally, they should have had a positive net worth in at least two out of the three preceding financial years.</p>
<p>Recently, SJVN Green Energy <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-green-invites-bids-for-transmission" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for the construction of 132 kV transmission lines, including bays, for its 125 MW Jamui Phase-I solar project and 75 MW Banka solar project in Bihar.</p>
<p>In January, SJVN <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sjvn-%e2%82%b9100-billion-fund-construction-renewable-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a ₹100 billion (~$1.2 billion) construction financing facility to fund its upcoming renewable energy projects in a first-of-its-kind transaction by a public sector undertaking.</p>
