<p>Here are some noteworthy cleantech announcements of the day from around the world:</p>
<p><strong>Suntech, a global solar panel producer, has </strong><a href="http://www.suntech-power.com/newsDetails.html?id=4173&amp;parentId=1039" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>begun</strong></a><strong> the operation of a 1 GW integrated photovoltaic cell and module manufacturing projects in Indonesia</strong>. The manufacturing facility has the capacity to produce 500 MW of cells and 500 MW of modules. The production lines are compatible with multi-busbar modules. The company said that its manufacturing capacity would be expanded to around 1 GW by the end of 2020. The solar module from the facility would be available for consumers in the United States.</p>
<p><strong>Nextracker, a solar tracker system provider, has </strong><a href="https://www.nextracker.com/2020/09/nextracker-selected-by-shanghai-electric-to-elevate-energy-output-for-middle-easts-largest-solar-park/?utm_campaign=2020-9-DEWA%20V%20Press%20Release&amp;utm_medium=email&amp;_hsenc=p2ANqtz-8XVBmOmDxwBLPIjE5ZiZrEUv2bDy3WUuDxPH7aNAwyBXfbZ8lQfQjo7e_DviVOTO5QUyDXRy7YNfpYMuUBpAsEzAvLtA&amp;_hsmi=95442008&amp;utm_content=95442008&amp;utm_source=hs_email&amp;hsCtaTracking=fe5ad8d1-8572-4121-9cbd-786f38a07ee1%7C2d738ca9-3b90-49d3-aace-a475cb6064da" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>entered</strong></a><strong> into a strategic partnership with Shanghai Electric to provide over 1 GW of solar tracker technology to enhance energy production for phase five of Dubai’s Mohammed Bin Rashid Solar Project.</strong> The project has a planned production capacity of 1 GW for the fifth phase and 5 GW in total. Dubai Electricity and Water Authority own the project, which is a part of Dubai’s clean energy strategy.</p>
<p><strong>Solaria Corporation, a U.S.-based solar technology company, has </strong><a href="https://static1.squarespace.com/static/568f7df70e4c112f75e6c82b/t/5f615c68bcd485523b53b77f/1600216168489/Solaria+ITC+Press+Release.09.16.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>filed</strong></a><strong> an additional claim against Canadian Solar with the International Trade Commission.</strong> The solar technology company already filed a lawsuit against Canadian Solar in the United States District Court for the Northern District of California in March 2020. According to Solaria’s claim, Canadian Solar’s ‘HiDM’ shingled modules infringe upon Solaria’s U.S. patent covering tiled or shingled solar modules and its patented process for separating photovoltaic strips from solar cells for use in such modules.</p>
<p><strong>Tech giant Google and SolarPower Europe have </strong><a href="https://www.solarpowereurope.org/solarpower-europe-and-google-announce-joint-initiative-highlighting-immense-job-opportunities-in-the-european-solar-sector/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer"><strong>joined</strong></a><strong> hands with an aim to raise awareness about the significant job opportunities present in the European solar sector.</strong> SolarPower Europe will provide introductory courses about job opportunities in the solar industry in multiple languages across Europe in partnership with the Grow with Google.</p>
