The company plans to begin the construction of the standalone battery energy storage facility in 2026, with commissioning expected in late 2026 or early 2027.
JP Energie Environnement, a French independent renewable energy producer, <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/jp-energie-environnement-secures-496-million-for-solar-and-wind-portfolio/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a €430 million (~$496 million) refinancing for its solar and wind projects. Bpifrance, CIC, Société Générale, and Crédit Agricole Transitions &amp; Energies, alongside the banks of the Crédit Agricole Group, arranged and financed the transaction. The refinancing covers 25 solar projects and 19 wind projects (including one under construction), with a total capacity of 427 MW.

<a href="https://premierenergygroup.eu/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Premier Energy</a>, an integrated energy provider in Southeastern Europe and a listed company on the Bucharest Stock Exchange, acquired a 100% stake in a ready-to-build battery energy storage project with a planned power input and output of 200 MW and an energy storage capacity of 400 MWh.
The company plans to begin the construction of the standalone battery energy storage facility in 2026, with commissioning expected in late 2026 or early 2027. Once operational, the project will help balance the Romanian electricity system by storing surplus energy and releasing it during periods of high demand and low generation.
The total development and construction cost of the battery project is estimated at approximately €75 million (~$87 million). Currently, Premier Energy&#8217;s management is in advanced discussions on financing options for the project.

In June 2024, the company <a href="https://premierenergygroup.eu/wp-content/uploads/2025/05/PressRelease_PE_Buzau_June14docx.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener">acquired</a> two solar projects, which also include storage capacities with a capacity of 18 MWh, totaling 86 MW, located in Buzău County in Romania. Premier Energy acquired the projects through Alive Renewable Holding, which is an investment vehicle within the company.
According to Mercom&#8217;s 9M and Q3 2025 Funding and M&amp;A <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/product/9m-and-q3-2025-funding-and-ma-report-for-storage/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Report</a> for Energy Storage report, there were 45 energy storage project M&amp;A transactions in the first nine months of 2025 compared to 22 transactions in the same period of 2024.
