					</table><p><a href="https://www.nakedenergy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Naked Energy</a>, a solar thermal solutions provider, has secured a combined £8.9 million (~$12 million) investment from Great British Energy and Barclays Climate Ventures to establish a manufacturing facility in the U.K.</p>
<p>Great British Energy is investing £7.5 million (~$10.13 million) through its Energy Engineered in the U.K. program. Barclays Climate Ventures, an existing Naked Energy shareholder, is also participating in the funding round.</p>
<p>The company develops renewable heat technology, including its Virtu solar thermal systems, which generate heat and electricity from a single rooftop installation at the point of use and are designed to reduce gas demand without straining the electricity grid.</p>
<p>Naked Energy identified hotels, leisure centers, hospitals, care homes, manufacturing facilities, residential developments, and public buildings among potential applications.</p>

<p>In 2024, the company <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/naked-energy-raises-series-b-funding/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> £17 million (~$22.1 million) in a Series B funding round led by E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions, a provider of integrated, sustainable energy solutions for cities and industries. The series was supported by co-investment from existing investor Barclays through its Sustainable Impact Capital.</p>
<p>In 1H 2026, VC funding activity in the solar sector decreased 40% YoY to $1.5 billion, down from $2.5 billion in the first half of 2025. Deal activity increased 9% YoY with 35 deals in the first half of 2026 compared to 32 in 1H 2025, as per the recently <a href="https://mercomcapital.com/product/1h-and-q2-2026-solar-funding-and-ma-report" target="_blank" rel="noopener">released</a> Mercom&#8217;s 1H and Q2 2026 Solar Funding and M&amp;A Report.</p>

The partnership between E.ON and Naked Energy is expected to facilitate the provision of Naked Energy’s technology through a “Heat-As-A-Service” model to a global client base.</p>
<p><strong>Canada-based Brookfield Asset Management has </strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/brookfield-investment-leap-green-energy"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> an equity investment in Leap Green Energy</strong>, a renewable energy company based in Tamil Nadu, India. The initial commitment includes an equity investment of over $200 million, comprising the subscription of new shares and the acquisition of shares from existing shareholders. Under the terms of the definitive strategic investment agreements, Brookfield has acquired a majority controlling stake in Leap Green. This partnership aims to enhance Leap Green’s capabilities and expand the platform’s capacity to over 3 GW within the next four to five years.</p>
<p><strong>Jupiter International, a manufacturer of photovoltaic solar cells and provider of solar power solutions in India, has </strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/jupiter-3-billion-valuequest"><strong>received</strong></a><strong> an investment</strong> of ₹3 billion (~$35.89 million) from ValueQuest S.C.A.L.E. private equity fund. Jupiter aims to establish a 1.8 GW solar cell and 1.2 GW solar module manufacturing facility with this funding. The company has formed a joint venture with AmpIn Energy to develop an integrated solar cell and module capacity of 1.2 GW each</p>
<p><strong>epilot, a software-based smart grid solutions provider, </strong><a href="https://mercomcapital.com/smart-grid-cloud-solutions-startup-epilot-raises-11-million/"><strong>secured</strong></a><strong> €10 million (~$11 million) from Expedition Growth Capital, a London-based venture Capital Firm.</strong> The company will use the funding to expand its team. epilot provides software that utilities can use to standardize and automate sales processes for new renewable energy products. According to the company, grid operators can also use the software to reduce bottlenecks in workflows and connect more customers to renewable energy systems at home.</p>
<p><strong>GALILEO, a European platform focused on renewable energy development and investment, has </strong><a href="https://mercomcapital.com/galileo-acquires-solar-developer-pagra/"><strong>announced</strong></a><strong> the acquisition</strong> of an additional 65% stake in PAGRA, a company specializing in solar PV rooftop installations. Having initially secured a 35% minority stake in July 2022, GALILEO now fully owns PAGRA, aiming to accelerate the company&#8217;s growth strategy.</p>

Funding and M&A Roundup: Naked Energy Raises $22 Million

<p><a href="https://nakedenergy.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Naked Energy</a>, a provider of solar thermal and solar PVT solutions, secured £17 million (~$22.06 million) in a Series B funding round led by E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions (E.ON EIS), a provider of integrated, sustainable energy solutions for cities and industries. The series was supported by co-investment from existing investor Barclays through its Sustainable Impact Capital.</p>
<p>“Heat decarbonization presents a huge economic opportunity. With investment from such major industry players, we’re confident we can capitalize on this global shift and look forward to other like-minded investors joining us on our journey to ‘change energy for good,” said Christophe Williams, CEO of Naked Energy.</p>
<p>E.ON EIS is part of the E.ON Group, a European operator of energy networks and infrastructure and a strategic partner to Naked Energy. T E.ON Group Innovation initiated the partnership through the global accelerator program Free Electrons.</p>
<p>The partnership between E.ON and Naked Energy is expected to facilitate the provision of Naked Energy’s technology through a “Heat-As-A-Service” model to a global client base. The two companies are working on a pipeline of projects across multiple territories.</p>
<p>“Naked Energy’s solutions have distinctive and convincing value propositions. We will utilize them to help our customers, in industries such as Food &amp; Beverage and Hospitality, to decarbonize their businesses profitably. We are looking forward to scaling our joint business activities, both from an E.ON perspective and on Naked Energy’s board of directors,” said Daniel Joisten, Head of Innovation Commercialization at E.ON Energy Infrastructure Solutions.</p>

<p>According to <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/product/1h-and-q2-2024-solar-funding-and-ma-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Mercom’s</a> recently released 1H and Q2 2024 Solar Funding and MA report, VC funding for solar activity decreased 29% YoY, with $2.7 billion raised in 29 deals in 1H 2024 compared to $3.8 billion from 33 deals in the first half of 2023.</p>
<p>Last month, Swift Solar, a company that designs and manufactures Perovskite-based photovoltaic cells, <a href="https://cms.mercomindia.com/swift-solar-raises-27-million-in-series-a-funding/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">raised</a> $27 million in a Series A funding round co-led by Eni Next, Eni’s corporate venture capital arm, and Fontinalis Partners, a mobility and deep tech VC firm that invests in startup companies.</p>
