					</table><p>The Maharashtra Krishna Valley Development Corporation (<a href="https://mwrdidc.in/mkvdc/home" target="_blank" rel="noopener">MKVDC</a>), Pune, has invited expressions of interest (EoIs) for the development of a 59 MW floating solar project with a 29 MW/59 MWh battery storage system at the Ekrukh reservoir in the Solapur district under a public-private partnership model.</p>
<p>The EOI aims to secure innovative and cost‑effective floating solar plus BESS solutions that optimize reservoir utilization through advanced floating structures, anchoring and mooring systems, efficient layout design, and potential hybrid operational coordination.</p>
<p>The scope of work includes engineering, design, procurement, installation, and commissioning of the floating solar project system and the BESS, in compliance with applicable standards and dam‑safety requirements.</p>
<p>The last date to submit bids is August 5, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.</p>
<p>The project will be implemented under a concession-based Lease–Develop–Operate–Transfer (LDOT) model, an approach well-suited to large-scale renewable energy infrastructure that requires advanced technical design, private investment, environmental stewardship, and long-term operational reliability.</p>
<p>The project must be commissioned within 24 months.</p>
<p>Bidders should have developed a floating solar project with a capacity of at least 29 MW and a BESS project with a capacity of at least 14 MWh during the last five years.</p>
<p>They should also have operated and maintained a renewable energy project with a capacity of at least 29 MW for at least two years.</p>
<p>The average annual turnover of bidders over the last five years should be at least ₹1.15 billion (~$12.08 million).</p>
<p>Also, they should have positive net worth as of the last day of the preceding financial year.</p>
<p>Successful bidders must maintain a capacity utilization factor of at least 19%, plant availability of at least 95%, DSM compliance, MERIT compliance, and implement predictive/preventive maintenance and SCADA‑based monitoring.</p>
<p>Recently, MKVDC <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/maharashtra-tenders-807-mw-floating-solar-807-mwh-of-energy-storage" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> an EoI to set up 807 MW of floating solar projects, with 403 MW/807 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS), on reservoirs, on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis.</p>
<p>This January, Mahatma Phule Renewable Energy and Infrastructure Technology <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/mahapriet-releases-tender-for-100-mw-floating-solar-project-in-maharashtra?" target="_blank" rel="noopener">issued</a> a request for selection to develop a 100 MW grid-connected floating solar project at Tansa Dam and/or Modak Sagar Dam.</p>

<p>Bids must be submitted by July 22, 2026. Bids will be opened the next day.</p>
<p>The projects will include 560 MW of floating solar and 280 MW/560 MWh of energy storage capacity in the Pune district, 102 MW of floating solar and 51 MW/102 MWh of energy storage in Satara, 80 MW of floating solar and 39.5 MW/80 MWh of energy storage in the Sangli district, and 65 MW of floating solar and 32.5 MW/65 MWh of energy storage in the Solapur district.</p>

<p>Bidders must submit a document fee of ₹11,800 (~$124.22) for all projects except for the one at the Veer reservoir in Satara’s Khandala town. Those applying for projects at the Veer reservoir must furnish a document fee of ₹5,900 (~$62.11).</p>
<p>The scope of work entails the design, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of the floating solar and energy storage projects. It also entails providing operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) services for 25 years.</p>
<p>Selected bidders must prepare a detailed project report, implementation plan, engineering design, and environmental management plan, and obtain all the approvals for the projects. They must finance the project and achieve its financial closure.</p>
<p>The projects must include floating platforms, anchoring and mooring systems, inverters, transformers, switchgear, supervisory control and data acquisition (SCADA), and other balance-of-system equipment. They will also include onshore infrastructure, including pooling substations and control rooms.</p>
<p>Successful bidders must integrate the floating solar and the battery energy storage projects with the grid infrastructure. They must ensure compliance with environmental and dam safety requirements, scheduling, grid compliance, and metering and energy accounting.</p>
<p>They must also manage power generation while complying with reservoir-interface protocols, without affecting irrigation or dam operations.</p>
<p>The floating solar plus storage projects must maintain a minimum availability of 95% and a capacity utilization factor of at least 19% for the solar systems. The energy storage systems must maintain a minimum power capacity of 50% of the contracted renewable energy capacity with a storage duration of at least two hours.</p>
<p>The floating platforms, solar modules, anchoring and mooring systems, inverters, energy storage systems, cables, and balance-of-system equipment must comply with the standards of the International Electrotechnical Commission, the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers, the Central Electricity Authority, and the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.</p>
<p>The projects must be completed within 24 months.</p>
<p>Selected bidders must pay liquidated damages of 0.5% per week for construction delays, capped at 10%, 0.1% premium deductions for every 1% shortfall in solar availability below 98% and energy storage availability below 97%, along with penalties for metering, deviation settlement mechanism, dam safety, and critical safety breaches.</p>
<p>Bidders must have set up floating solar projects of at least 18 MW and energy storage systems of 9 MW.</p>
<p>Alternatively, they must have set up an equivalent capacity of solar infrastructure projects under the PPP model in the five years preceding the bid submission deadline.</p>
<p>Bidders must have provided O&amp;M services for renewable energy projects of a minimum capacity of 18 MW for at least two years.</p>
<p>Bidders must have a minimum annual turnover of ₹700 million (~$7.37 million) during the last five financial years before the bid submission deadline. They must have had a positive net worth as of March 31, 2025.</p>
