<p>Rajasthan Electronics Instruments Limited (<a href="http://www.reiljp.com/HindiWeb/indexH2.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">REIL</a>), a joint venture between the Government of India and the Government of Rajasthan, has issued a notice inviting tender (NIT) for 700 energy meters in Jaipur.</p>
<p>The last date for the submission of bids is August 24, 2020. REIL did not specify an earnest money deposit (EMD) for the tender. The details of the tender are provided below:</p>

<p>REIL said that the import/export meters, solar energy meters, and whole current net meters must have been tested and approved by the Jaipur distribution company (DISCOM). It added that a test report must be provided along with the meters, as well.</p>
<p>Suppliers are expected to provide a five-year warranty for the meters against breaking, rejection from the DISCOM, burning, reading errors, among other things. The meters must be delivered within two weeks from the release of the delivery clearance against REIL’s rate contract. The contract will be valid up to May 31, 2021, and can be extended if mutually agreed upon.</p>
<p>The tender documents noted that 20% of the tendered quantity would be allocated to micro and small enterprises (MSEs). REIL also said that indigenous manufacturers would be given preference for the promotion of indigenous products, subject to them meeting quality standards and specifications.</p>
<p>Recently, Uttarakhand Power Corporation Limited (<a href="https://www.upcl.org/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">UPCL</a>) floated a tender for 900 single-phase (10-60a) whole current solar meters in the state.</p>
<p>More recently, the Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL), a joint venture of public sector units under the Ministry of Power, said it successfully <a href="https://mercomindia.com/eesl-installs-one-million-smart-meters-india/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">installed</a> one million smart meters across India under the Smart Meter National Program (SMNP).</p>
