					</table><p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/rumsl-tender-750-mw-wind-solar-hybrid-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Rewa Ultra Mega Solar has invited bids to develop 750 MW wind-solar hybrid power projects in Madhya Pradesh on a build-own-operate basis.</strong></a> The developers can also propose to add storage capacity along with the projects. The last date to submit the bids is November 17, 2023. Bids will be opened on the same day. Bidders can submit their offers for a minimum of 10 MW and a maximum of 375 MW capacity.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/sterling-and-wilson-epc-contract-300-mw-ntpc" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Sterling and Wilson Renewable Energy has received the Notification of Award from NTPC Renewable Energy for the engineering, procurement, and construction of a 300 MW solar project at the Khavda Renewable Energy Park in Gujarat.</strong></a> The total contract value, including operation and maintenance for three years, is ₹15.35 billion (~$184.8 million). Construction of the project is anticipated to commence either towards the end of the third quarter or the beginning of the fourth quarter of this year. It is projected to be commissioned within the subsequent 12 to 18 months.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/brookfield-to-invest-845-jv-with-axis-energy-in-india" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Global asset management firm Brookfield and Axis Energy Ventures have announced their second renewable energy joint venture partnership in India.</strong></a> Brookfield, through its Brookfield Global Transition Fund II (BGTF II), has committed to providing equity capital of up to $845 million to develop Axis’ wind and solar energy project pipeline. These projects are spread across the country and are in various stages of development. Both partners will leverage their expertise and resources to jointly provide curated energy solutions to various industry participants, including government entities, corporate customers, and emerging industries such as green hydrogen.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/kp-energy-bos-contract-464-mw-wind-projects-gujarat" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Gujarat-based KP Energy, a balance of project solutions provider for wind projects, has secured the balance of system contract for 464.10 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-linked wind power projects in Gujarat.</strong></a> The contract was awarded by NTPC Renewable Energy. Under the contract, the company will provide a comprehensive range of services, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning. The services include land acquisition and transfer for the project, the provision of all essential equipment for the balance of project, and a range of services related to unloading, storage, on-site handling, installation, insurance, civil and related construction, grid integration, testing, and commissioning.</p>
<p><strong><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/thdc-invites-eois-from-land-in-solar-park-program" target="_blank" rel="noopener">THDC India has invited expressions of interest (EoI) for the empanelment of land aggregators and facilitators for acquiring land on a lease or purchase basis to develop Ultra Mega Renewable Energy Power Parks in Rajasthan.</a></strong> These parks will be developed under the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s solar park program. The last date to submit the EoIs is October 16, 2023. They will be evaluated the next day.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ihc-divest-shares-in-adani" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Abu Dhabi’s International Holding Company PJSC (IHC) is set to divest its investments in Adani Green Energy and Adani Energy Solutions (formerly Adani Transmission).</strong></a> IHC Subsidiaries, Green Energy Investment Holding, and Green Transmission Investment Holding have reached an agreement with a buyer to dispose of their foreign direct investments in Adani Green Energy and Adani Transmission. IHC said that this decision aligns with its broader portfolio rebalancing strategy. The company is currently completing all procedures and obtaining the regulatory approvals to execute the agreed-upon transaction.</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/average-tariff-0-086-kwh-frances-1-5-gw-solar-auction" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>France’s Ministry of Ecological and Solidarity Transition has announced the list of successful bidders for the fourth round of auction to develop 1.5 GW of ground-mounted solar power projects in the country.</strong></a> Projects were awarded for a total capacity of 1.519 GW. A total of 126 bidders were declared successful in the auction. The average price quoted in the auction was €0.082 (~$0.086)/kWh. Rubis Photosol secured the highest capacity of 252.5 MW (eight projects), followed by the special purpose vehicles of Neoen with 212.42 MW (14 projects).</p>
<p><a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/global-investments-clean-energy-1-8-trillion-2023-iea" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>Global investments in clean energy could reach an unprecedented $1.8 trillion in 2023, but this must increase significantly to about $4.5 trillion annually by early 2030 to align with the Net Zero Emissions scenario, the International Energy Agency has said.</strong></a> Nearly five GT of CO2 would need to be extracted from the atmosphere each year during the latter half of this century. If carbon removal technologies fall short of achieving this scale, it would render the goal of returning the global temperature to a 1.5°C increase unattainable.</p>

					</table><p>Gujarat-based <a href="https://kpenergy.in/index" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KP Energy</a>, a balance of project solutions provider for wind projects, has secured the balance of system (BoS) contract for 464.10 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-linked wind power projects in Gujarat. The contract was awarded by <a href="https://ntpcrel.co.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">NTPC Renewable Energy</a>.</p>
<p>Under the contract, the company will provide a comprehensive range of services, including engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning (EPCC).</p>
<p>The services include land acquisition and transfer for the project, the provision of all essential equipment for the balance of project, and a range of services related to unloading, storage, on-site handling, installation, insurance, civil and related construction, grid integration, testing, and commissioning.</p>
<p>KP Energy will be responsible for the operation and maintenance of the project for three years.</p>
<p>The project is to be completed within 21 months from the date of the no-objection certificate.</p>
<p>NTPC Renewable Energy had <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-balance-of-system-1-gw-wind-projects-gujarat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">floated</a> the tender in January this year for a BoS package of ISTS-connected wind power projects of 1,000 MW capacity anywhere in Gujarat.</p>
<p>It has specified that the project should be adaptable for the installation of wind turbine generators with a capacity of 2.7 MW or greater. These turbine generators must be selected from the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers as issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.</p>
<p>KP Energy will be responsible for proving the guaranteed performance parameters starting from 33 kV internal evacuation lines from the unit substation, pooling substation, central monitoring and control station, wind monitoring masts, and external EHV transmission line until the ISTS substation.</p>
<p>In September 2022, KP Energy had <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/daily-news-wrap-up-kp-energy-wind-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">received</a> an order worth ₹2.22 billion (~$26.69 million) from Aditya Birla Group to develop wind projects at Bhungar and Fulsar in the Bhavnagar district of Gujarat.</p>
<p>Last year, NTPC Renewable Energy had <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/ntpc-bos-tender-1-2-gw-solar-projects-gujarat" target="_blank" rel="noopener">invited</a> bids for the BoS package to develop 1,200 MW (4 X 300 MW) of solar power projects at the Khavda renewable park in Gujarat. The scope of work included the design, engineering, manufacturing, installation, and commissioning of solar power projects.</p>

KP Energy Bags BoS Contract for 464 MW Wind Projects in Gujarat

<p>Gujarat-based <a href="https://www.kpenergy.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">KP Energy Limited</a>, a leading engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) company in the wind sector, announced its financial results for the second quarter (Q2) of the financial year (FY) 2021, along with its future goals. In the earnings presentation, the company also talked about its achievements in Q2 FY 2021.</p>
<p>As per the company&#8217;s statement, the most important achievement for the company in Q2 FY 2021 was the charging of the long-overdue 220 kV double circuit extra-high voltage line (two independent circuits with the capability to handle 300 MW of wind power each) between 300 MW Gadhsisa site and the Power Grid Corporation of India Limited&#8217;s (<a href="https://www.powergridindia.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">POWERGRID</a>) substation at Nirona. The company said that this development paved the way for closing the pending accounting, reconciliation with GE, and adjust the debts taken to meet cost overruns.</p>
<p>Previously, Mercom <a href="https://mercomindia.com/kp-energy-ge-india-300-mw-wind-gujarat/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">reported</a> that KP Energy and GE India Industrial (P) Limited had signed a definitive agreement to develop a 300 MW wind power project, consisting of 120 wind turbine generators of 2.5 MW each. The project was to be developed in the Kutch region.</p>
<p>In its presentation, the company noted that the first circuit of the double circuit line had energized the wind farm. The 220/33 kV pooling substation has been brought into operation along with the first phase of 50 MW. The remaining phases of the project will also become operational in a time-bound manner, with most of the activities in the final stages of completion.</p>
<p>About the <a href="https://mercomindia.com/kp-energy-develop-251-mw-wind-project-gujarat/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">development</a> of the 250.8 MW <a href="https://www.clpindia.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">CLP India&#8217;s</a> wind project at Sidhpur-II site in Dwarka, the company said that the regulatory hurdles have now been addressed, and the company will execute the project. The agreements and technical documentation had to be changed for the project, which led to the delay in the project&#8217;s development, and it has taken more time than expected.</p>
<p>The company also announced that with the second circuit completely laid, it will support the 300 MW Vanki project&#8217;s development. The project will be developed on privately held land parcels and will become operational by 2022.</p>
<p>While discussing the future developments, the company noted that the 30 MW evergreen project at Mahuva-II site in Bhavnagar would get the time extension. The construction is expected to start in Q3 FY 2021.</p>
<p>KP Energy Limited has 8.4 MW of power generation assets and has an operation and maintenance (O&amp;M) portfolio of ~200 MW.</p>
<p>Wind Installations in India <a href="https://mercomindia.com/tamil-nadu-gujarat-wind-projects/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">increased</a> by about 117% in the third quarter of 2020 (Q3 2020), with about 295 MW of installations compared to the previous quarter&#8217;s 136 MW, according to data from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Tamil Nadu and Gujarat were the only two states which added wind capacity during the quarter with about 221 MW and 73 MW, respectively.</p>

KP Energy Completes Transmission Line in Gujarat to Evacuate Wind Power

<p><a href="http://www.kpenergy.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">KP Energy</a> has tied up with <a href="https://www.clpindia.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">CLP India</a>, one of the largest foreign investors in the Indian power sector to develop a 250.8 MW wind project at Dwarka in Gujarat. The project was floated by the Solar Energy Corporation of India Limited (SECI) under Tranche-VIII.</p>
<p>The project is expected to be connected with interstate transmission system (ISTS) network substation at Jam Khambhaliya, Gujarat.</p>
<p>As part of the arrangement with CLP India, KP Energy will be responsible for providing a turnkey balance of solution for the project, including procuring wind site locations, obtaining necessary approvals and development permits, wind data management, and other related works. The company will also take the responsibility to complete the power evacuation infrastructure comprising 220 kV dedicated lines and pooling substation at Sidhpur in Dwarka.</p>
<p>In June 2019, a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) was signed between the two companies under which it was agreed upon that CLP India would offer sites to develop capacities in the range of 50-300 MW. Based on the MoU, KP Energy offered the Sidhpur site to CLP India for its evaluation.</p>
<p>A pre-bid collaboration and development agreement was signed between KP Energy and CLP India for a wind site of approximately 300 MW capacity for SECI.</p>
<p>According to the Bombay Stock Exchange (BSE) filing by KP Energy, “This is the first instance where KP Energy has tied up directly with an independent power producer for wind farm development. Previously, such arrangements were done through OEMs (original equipment manufacturers).”</p>
<p>Since 2002, CLP India has diversified its generation portfolio which includes renewable and conventional energy, aggregating over 3,000 MW.</p>
<p>CLP India’s 14 wind energy projects and three solar energy projects are spread across seven states of the country.</p>
<p>Previously, <a href="https://mercomindia.com/kp-energy-ge-india-300-mw-wind-gujarat/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Mercom</a> had reported that KP Energy and GE India Industrial Limited signed a definitive agreement for the development of a 300 MW wind power project, consisting of 120 wind turbine generators of 2.5 MW each.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/suzlon-sale-two-subsidiaries-clp-wind-farms/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">In March 2019</a>, renewable project developer Suzlon Energy announced that it had completed the sale two of its subsidiaries to CLP Wind Farms. Suzlon stated that it was selling the remaining stake in its subsidiaries S.E Solar Limited and Gale Solar Farms Limited for consideration of ₹765.5 million ($11.1 million) and ₹225.4 million ($3.3 million), respectively.</p>
<p>CLP had forayed into solar energy projects by acquiring 49% stake in SE Solar in December 2017.</p>

KP Energy  to Develop 251 MW Wind Project in Gujarat for CLP India

<p><a href="http://www.kpenergy.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">KP Energy</a> and GE India Industrial (P) Limited have signed a definitive agreement for the development of a 300 MW wind power project, consisting of 120 wind turbine generators of 2.5 MW each. The project will be developed in Kutch region, located in the state of Gujarat.</p>
<p>The wind power project will be connected with the interstate transmission system (ISTS) network in Kutch.</p>
<p>According to a Bombay Stock Exchange (<a href="https://www.bseindia.com" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BSE</a>) filing by KP Energy, “This is in furtherance to the term sheet agreement signed up between the parties.”</p>
<p>KP Energy has undertaken development activities for the project including resource mobilization, lands and permits acquisition, statutory approvals, and route surveys. So far, KP Energy has so far received milestone payments of ₹284.5 million (~$4.16 million) towards the above progress.</p>
<p>The project Is planned to achieve full commissioning by September 2019.</p>
<p>In May 2018, KP Energy announced it will add over 1,231 MW within the next two years to the existing 205.8 MW of wind capacity.</p>
<p>Wind projects have had some challenges lately in Gujarat.</p>
<p><a href="https://mercomindia.com/gujarat-high-court-notice-wind-projects/">Recently</a>, Mercom reported that a division bench of the Gujarat High Court has issued a notice to the state and central governments on a public interest litigation (PIL) challenging the allotment of ‘gauchar’ land (village pastures) in Kutch district to private companies to set up windmills.</p>
<p>Meanwhile, Gujarat Urja Vikas Nigam Limited (<a href="http://www.gseb.com/guvnl/index.aspx" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GUVNL</a>) recently <a href="https://mercomindia.com/gujarat-annuls-500-mw-wind-tender-greenshoe/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">cancelled</a> the tender for 500 MW of wind projects. The capacity was tendered by GUVNL under Phase II of its program for procurement of wind power through competitive bidding. In this tender, GUVNL had provided the project developers with an option to produce an extra 500 MW of wind power at the Lowest Quoted Tariff (L1) under the <a href="https://mercomindia.com/gujarat-500mw-wind-tender/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Greenshoe option</a>.</p>
