					</table><p>Germany-based solar technology company BSH (<a href="https://www.bsh-group.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">BSH Hausgeräte)</a>, has filed for insolvency proceedings at the Schweinfurt District Court due to over-indebtedness.</p>
<p>The court ordered preliminary insolvency administration and appointed a provisional insolvency administrator.</p>
<p>BSH&#8217;s business operations are continuing during the preliminary insolvency proceedings. The administrator and his team are assessing the company&#8217;s financial position and holding discussions with business partners.</p>
<p>The company said preparations are underway to pre-finance insolvency payments for the coming months to cover wages for approximately 80 remaining employees.</p>
<p>The company also plans to contact customers to determine which planned projects can continue and be completed.</p>
<p>BSH attributed the insolvency filing to several factors, including a decline in demand from private customers starting in 2024. A restructuring plan developed and validated in 2025 included workforce reductions and cuts in fixed costs but did not achieve the intended results.</p>
<p>Bad debts associated with insolvent subsidiaries also affected the company&#8217;s balance sheet.</p>
<p>During its growth phase, BSH expanded its workforce to an average of 153 employees in 2025.</p>
<p>The company and the provisional insolvency administrator plan to begin seeking investors as part of the restructuring strategy to reposition BSH through the entry of an investor.</p>
<p>The company would explore the investor market for parties interested in BSH and continuing the business with its workforce.</p>
<p>The insolvency <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/germanys-enerparc-files-for-insolvency-says-solar-operations-to-continue" target="_blank" rel="noopener">follows</a> closely after ENERPARC AG filed a petition with the Hamburg Local Court to open insolvency proceedings. The group’s core business centers around developing and operating solar power projects and, marketing electricity.</p>

Solar remained the country’s largest source of new renewable energy capacity during the period. Germany added an estimated 1.27 GW of net solar capacity in June, compared with 1.30 GW in May and 1.29 GW in April.</p>

					</table><p>Germany-based solar project developer and independent power producer <a href="https://www.enerparc.de/en/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">ENERPARC AG</a> has filed a petition with the Hamburg Local Court to open insolvency proceedings. The company said its solar power operations will continue during the proceedings.</p>
<p>The company did not disclose the financial circumstances that led to the insolvency filing, its outstanding liabilities, or details of any potential restructuring plan. It also did not provide a timeline for the court&#8217;s decision on opening formal insolvency proceedings.</p>
<p>The court has appointed a provisional insolvency administrator who has begun discussions with ENERPARC&#8217;s Executive Board, advisors, and lenders to stabilize the company.</p>
<p>ENERPARC’s sister companies could also file for insolvency, although the company said it was too early to make a definitive assessment.</p>
<p>The company has approximately 5.5 GW of installed solar capacity, of which 3.8 GW is connected to the grid.</p>
<p>The group’s core business centers around developing and operating solar power projects and, marketing electricity.</p>
<p>Over the past 18 years, it has established operations spanning project development, construction, operation, and energy trading. The company is also involved in developing electricity storage infrastructure and substations.</p>
<p>ENERPARC said its revenue base comprises 500 solar parks in Germany and other international markets. Operations at these assets will continue during the insolvency process. It has solar assets in Germany, Spain, France, the Netherlands, India, and Australia.</p>
<p>In March, ENERPARC <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/enerparc-secures-1-billion-debt-financing-solar-storage-projects" target="_blank" rel="noopener">secured</a> a €1 billion (~$1.16 billion) debt package to support the continued expansion of its solar and battery storage pipeline across the company’s core markets. The financing package, provided by a consortium of three global asset managers and a German state bank, comprised a €500 million (~$581 million) loan. It also included a long-term project financing framework of up to €425 million (~$494 million) with an accordion facility that could increase project financing to €500 million (~$581 million).</p>

					</table><p>A court in the U.S. has approved the sale of <a href="https://www.meyerburger.com/en/company/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Meyer Burger</a>’s machinery and equipment for the production of solar modules to Waaree Solar Americas and solar cells to Babacomari Solar North for a total of approximately $29 million.</p>
<p>The company said this decision was driven by a failure to find an investor for the entire group of companies. It added that it will continue its efforts to sell parts of the group and/or its assets in Switzerland, Germany, and the U.S.</p>
<p>Meyer Burger Technology’s board of directors assessed that there is no possibility of rescuing the entire group of companies or the parent company. The board is seeking to conclude a composition agreement to rule out the possibility of paying a liquidation dividend to shareholders.</p>
<p>The silent debt moratorium granted to three of Meyer Burger’s Swiss companies, solar cell and module manufacturing arm Meyer Burger Technology and its subsidiaries, Meyer Burger Switzerland, and Meyer Burger Research, will continue as a regular provisional debt moratorium.</p>
<p>The company said the board of directors and the management board conducted intensive negotiations over multiple months to rescue the solar technology group, without success.</p>
<p>It attributed the failure to the challenging competitive environment resulting from extensive module imports from China at very low prices, as well as considerable uncertainties regarding the future promotion of renewable energies in both the U.S. and Europe.</p>
<p>In June this year, Meyer Burger Technology <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/meyer-burger-shuts-arizona-facility-as-german-subsidiaries-file-for-insolvency" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that its German subsidiaries, Meyer Burger (Industries) and Meyer Burger (Germany), had initiated insolvency proceedings as restructuring efforts were unsuccessful.</p>
<p>In the same month, Meyer Burger and its subsidiaries and debtor affiliates in the U.S. <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/meyer-burger-files-bankruptcy-for-us-subsidiaries-and-debtor-affiliates" target="_blank" rel="noopener">filed</a> for Chapter 11 protection in the Bankruptcy Court for the District of Delaware. The company filed for bankruptcy for its debtor affiliates Meyer Burger (Arizona), Meyer Burger (Americas), Meyer Burger (America) Lease, and solar module manufacturer Goodyear.</p>

					</table><p>Solar cell and module manufacturer <a href="https://www.meyerburger.com/en/company" target="_blank" rel="noopener">Meyer Burger Technology</a> has announced that its German subsidiaries, Meyer Burger (Industries) and Meyer Burger (Germany), have initiated insolvency proceedings as restructuring efforts were unsuccessful.</p>
<p>Meyer Burger stated that it had made intensive efforts to keep the sites operational during the restructuring negotiations. However, the efforts yielded no success, and the company will continue the proceedings, together with a provisional insolvency administrator to be appointed by the court.</p>
<p>It has also stopped module production in the U.S. due to a lack of funds. All 289 employees at the Goodyear, Arizona facility received their termination notices. The manufacturing facility had an annual capacity of 1.4 GW. “The future of the site is uncertain,” the company said.</p>
<p>Meyer Burger Industries’ solar cell manufacturing facility in Thalheim (city of Bitterfeld-Wolfen) employs 331 people. Meyer Burger, Germany, located in Hohenstein-Ernstthal, employs 289 people in mechanical engineering and technology development.</p>
<p>Meyer Burger (Switzerland) AG, which employs approximately 60 people in Thun, will continue to operate.</p>
<p>Against the background of the ongoing financing discussions on restructuring, Meyer Burger has requested an extension of the deadline for presenting its 2024 financial results. The deadline expired on May 31, 2025.</p>
<p>Last year, Meyer Burger Technology also <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/meyer-burger-shut-german-module-facility" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shut</a> down its manufacturing facility in Freiberg, Germany. The closure was part of the company’s plan to cut its losses in Europe and relocate its manufacturing base to the U.S.</p>
<p>The company had stated that maintaining a full-scale solar manufacturing operation in Europe was no longer viable and announced plans to shift focus to the U.S. market, which promises faster growth with lower capital demands.</p>
<p>In 2024, the company <a href="https://www.mercomindia.com/meyer-burger-drops-colorado-cell-manufacturing-plans" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> a strategic shift in its operations, focusing on its solar module production facility in Goodyear, Arizona, while halting plans for a new solar cell manufacturing plant in Colorado Springs, Colorado.</p>


Meyer Burger Shuts Arizona Facility as German Subsidiaries File for Insolvency

<p>The process for liquidation of assets of <a href="http://www.moserbaersolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Moser Baer Solar</a> has been initiated, and the stakeholders of the company have been asked by the National Company Law Tribunal (<a href="https://nclt.gov.in/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">NCLT</a>) to submit their claims with proof on or before July 1, 2019, to the liquidator.</p>
<p>The process of liquidation has been initiated in the absence of any buyers for Moser Baer Solar.</p>
<p>According to the concept of ‘Corporate Insolvency Resolution’ plan, the insolvency can be initiated by the creditor and once initiated, the control of the company goes into the hands of an insolvency resolution professional. The professional makes a resolution plan in which the claims of the creditors are addressed, and the maximum value is sought, generally by selling the company.</p>
<p>In Moser Baer Solar’s case, the resolution plan has failed since there were no buyers ready to acquire the company. If the resolution plan fails, the company goes into liquidation. This implies that all the assets of the company will be sold, and the claims of the creditors will be satisfied to the extent of the realized value. It would have been better for the creditors if the resolution plan had worked out since it would have fetched them better returns when compared to liquidation.</p>
<p>The process for insolvency had been initiated in 2018. A period of 270 days ending October 2018 was provided to find a suitable buyer for Moser Baer Solar.</p>
<p>Currently, other than the big players, <a href="https://mercomindia.com/znshine-solar-top-supplier-india-2018/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">module manufacturers</a> in India are yet to come to terms with the volatility and dynamics of this market with the plummeting solar power tariffs. Only a few players have the required resources to keep their module production lines functioning by developing their projects when there is a lull in demand.</p>
<p>However, in Moser Baer Solar’s case, its parent company, Moser Baer (sale notice was issued for it in March 2019), was not in excellent financial shape, pushing the company towards insolvency.</p>
