					</table>Solar tracker supplier GameChange Solar <a href="https://www.power-technology.com/news/gamechange-solar-manufacturing-capacity-saudi-arabia/?cf-view" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> that it will expand its manufacturing capacity in Saudi Arabia to 6 GW annually, doubling its current volume. The expansion is expected to be completed by September 2025. The facility will continue manufacturing GameChange Solar’s Genius Tracker systems for utility-scale projects. The company has deployed over 40 GW of solar trackers in 26 countries and six continents.
AMEA Power <a href="https://www.intellinews.com/amea-power-inaugurates-500mw-wind-plant-africa-s-largest-in-egypt-s-ras-ghareb-384189/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">commissioned</a> a 500 MW wind project in Egypt’s Ras Ghareb in the Red Sea Governorate nearly two and a half months ahead of schedule. The project is called the Amunet Wind Power Plant. The company stated that the project is expected to generate approximately 2,500 GWh of clean electricity annually. The project is a joint venture between AMEA Power (60%) and Sumitomo Corporation (40%). A consortium of international institutions, including the Japan Bank for International Cooperation, International Finance Corporation, Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank, and Standard Chartered Bank, financed the project.
AMEA Power <a href="https://www.wam.ae/article/bk0ner8-amea-power-kyuden-international-accelerate-clean" target="_blank" rel="noopener">signed</a> a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Kyuden International Corporation, a subsidiary of Japan’s Kyuden Group, to develop renewable energy and green hydrogen projects. The MoU establishes a framework for cooperation between the two companies to drive large-scale clean energy projects. AMEA Power now operates over 2,600 MW of projects and has additional capacity under construction, along with a project pipeline that exceeds 6 GW across more than 20 countries.
A recent report by the International Energy Agency <a href="https://economymiddleeast.com/news/renewable-generation-in-middle-east-expected-to-rise-by-about-14-percent-yearly-from-2025-2027-iea/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">forecasted</a> that the UAE and the entire Middle East will experience substantial expansion in the coming years. The report anticipated a 14% increase annually from 2025 to 2027 in renewable energy generation, starting from a low baseline, with its share expected to rise from 5% to 7%. Solar photovoltaic technology is expected to be the leading contributor to this growth, with its share of renewable generation projected to increase from approximately 55% to nearly 70% by 2027.

<a href="https://www.gamechangesolar.com/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">GameChange Solar</a>, headquartered in Norwalk, Connecticut, U.S., specializes in high-performance trackers, racking, and balance of systems for the renewable energy sector. In this exclusive interview with Mercom India, Andrew Worden, the company’s Founder &amp; CEO, shares his insights on India’s solar tracker market and his company’s offerings for the renewable energy sector.
What is your assessment of India’s solar tracker market? What growth opportunities do you see for GameChange Solar’s business in India?
The tracker market in India has matured significantly. A few years ago, adoption was limited, but now, it’s becoming the default choice for large utility-scale projects. That shift is driven by the fact that customers want more energy from the same land at the lowest possible cost.
We see this shift reflected in our own growth. We closed FY 2025 with over 7 GW in tracker orders and a cumulative capacity of 13 GW in India. The demand comes from clients who are building at speed and scale and who need partners who can execute reliably. As India moves towards more large-scale and complex projects, we’re well positioned to support that next phase of growth with a strong local supply chain and a team that’s deeply embedded in the market.
What has been the response to your company’s product offerings in India?
The response has been strong and, more importantly, consistent. What we hear from customers is that they value a product that performs, but they stay with us also because of how we deliver. From design to logistics to onsite support, we’ve worked hard to ensure that our innovative product offerings not only meet specifications but also real project pressures.
We’ve seen a steady increase in repeat orders, which tells us we’re adding value where it matters. Our Genius Tracker™ has proven itself across diverse terrains and conditions, and the trust we’ve built with some of India’s largest developers is what we value most.
How are your tracker systems designed for India’s unique climatic conditions and topography?
India’s geography demands a very practical approach to tracker design. You’re dealing with high winds in Rajasthan, extreme heat in Gujarat, sites that are rarely flat and in fact, in many cases, land shape is irregular. Our systems are built to handle that kind of variability without adding complexity for the client.
We’ve engineered our Genius Tracker™ to work on undulating terrain without the need for heavy grading. The drive system is maintenance-free and built for long life, which is especially important at remote sites with limited access. In high-wind zones, SmartStow™ automatically adjusts the stow angle to protect modules during gust events. These features weren’t designed in isolation; they were shaped by what we’ve seen in the field, including across projects in India.
What is your experience operating in India? At the policy level, do you have any suggestions for making India friendlier than it is for foreign companies to operate, especially in the context of GameChange Solar’s Make-in-India plans?
India has been an important part of our journey. It’s a complex market, but also one that moves fast sets bold targets, and increasingly rewards execution. We’ve built a strong local presence here, and that’s helped us serve the market better.
That said, like any fast-growing sector, there’s still work to do. Delays in land handover or grid connection, even if they don’t affect us directly, have a knock-on effect. Our systems are typically one of the first onsite after civil work, so when schedules slip, it affects delivery planning, logistics, and overall project coordination. What would help companies like ours is greater visibility and predictability in how upstream bottlenecks are managed.
How are the current tariff uncertainties around the world affecting your business plans?
We haven’t seen any significant impact on our India business from recent tariff developments. Our local supply chain gives us the flexibility we need to stay focused on execution and deliver reliably.
Solar developers in India have faced long lead times for transformer supplies for their projects. Given India’s ambitious renewable energy demand and a large pipeline of projects, what role can GameChange Solar play in meeting the demand?
Reliable supply chains are just as important as reliable technology. That’s something we’ve understood clearly from our experience working in fast-moving solar markets like India. Long lead times for key components like transformers can delay entire project schedules, which puts pressure on everyone across the value chain.
Through our transformer division, GameChange BOS, we’ve set up a dedicated manufacturing facility in Maharashtra. The facility spans 180,000 square feet and has a production capacity of 5,400 MVA annually – roughly 1,800 medium-voltage transformers per year. Production has already begun, and the facility has been built with the clear goal of improving supply-side certainty. A significant portion of these transformers will be exported, but we’re also committed to supporting the domestic market where timelines and delivery reliability matter.
This is very much in the spirit of Make in India but also Make in India for the world. It’s about building locally, delivering globally, and helping strengthen the ecosystem for everyone.

Mounting structures in a ground-mounted or rooftop solar project helps maintain the optimum generation and endure the weight of solar modules and strong wind speeds.
The conditions in India demand mounting structures that withstand the seasonality and rough conditions in the areas where solar power projects are deployed.
Goodluck India ranked first, accounting for 17% of the total module mounting structures shipped in 2023.
Goodluck India supplies module mounting structures to grid-connected solar projects and solar carports. According to its nine-month financial year 2023-24 results, the company had a production capacity of 4,12,000 metric tons per annum across six manufacturing facilities and five in-house hot dip galvanizing plants in India.
Arctech ranked second, accounting for 14% of the module mounting structures supplied in 2023. It has a combined production capacity of 13 GW, including a 3 GW manufacturing facility in Mundra, Gujarat.
GameChange Solar entered the top ten list in 2023 in the third position, accounting for 13% of solar module mounting structures supplied during the year. The company had an annual production capacity of 55 GW for key systems.

Goodluck, Arctech, GameChange Solar: Top Module Mounting Firms in 2023

Here are some significant cleantech announcements of the day from around the world:
VRB Energy, a clean technology company, <a href="https://www.globenewswire.com/news-release/2021/03/15/2192967/0/en/VRB-Energy-announces-agreement-for-China-s-largest-solar-battery-a-100MW-solar-storage-project-in-Hubei-Province.html" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> a framework agreement for a 100 MW solar and 100 MW/500 MWh vanadium flow battery integrated power project at Xiangyang in Hubei Province of China. The agreement includes constructing the first 50 MW per annum of a new 1,000 MW per annum VRB-ESS &#8220;Gigafactory&#8221; manufacturing facility and a vanadium flow battery energy research and development (R&amp;D) institute. VRB Energy&#8217;s 100 MW project in Hubei is among a growing list of growing flow battery projects being prioritized in China as part of its national energy storage policy.
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE), in collaboration with Israel&#8217;s Ministry of Energy and the Israel Innovation Authority, <a href="https://www.energy.gov/articles/us-department-energy-announces-call-joint-us-israel-clean-energy-technology-proposals" target="_blank" rel="noopener">announced</a> $4 million in funding for clean energy technologies. The funding is under the Binational Industrial Research &amp; Development Energy program. The program promotes U.S.-Israel partnerships in bringing renewable and energy efficiency technologies to market. BIRD Energy supports research and development that benefits both the United States and Israel, focusing on commercializing sustainable energy technologies.
Solarvest Holdings Berhad, the Malaysian solar system specialist, has been <a href="https://solarvest.my/about-us/overview/" target="_blank" rel="noopener">shortlisted</a> as one of the successful bidders in the LSS@Mentari program to provide a cumulative capacity of 50 MW of solar-power via three large-scale solar farms. Among the three shortlisted bids, the largest solar farm has a capacity of 25 MW which will be based in Manjung, Perak. This will be followed by a 13 MW solar farm in Kuala Selangor and another 12 MW solar farm in Manjung, Perak. The solar projects are expected to be operational by the end of 2022. The solar plants are expected to be operational by the end of 2022.
Powering Australian Renewables (PowAR) and Mercury NZ Limited have <a href="https://www.agl.com.au/about-agl/media-centre/asx-and-media-releases/2021/march/agl-to-participate-in-powars-acquisition-of-tilt-renewables-australian-business" target="_blank" rel="noopener">entered</a> into an agreement to acquire Tilt Renewables for an all-cash transaction of NZ$2.9 billion (~$2.08 billion) per the New Zealand Companies Act 1993. The Australian power company AGL Energy has a 20% interest in PowAR and will contribute $A341 (~$264.1 million)  to fund its portion of PowAR&#8217;s acquisition of Tilt&#8217;s Australian business. For AGL, the proposed PowAR acquisition of Tilt will complement AGL&#8217;s participation in the PowAR platform, which, on implementation of the program, will be the largest owner of wind and solar energy generation in Australia.
