<p><em>Here are some noteworthy cleantech announcements of the day from around the world:</em></p>
<p><strong>Siemens Smart Infrastructure and Zukunftsenergie Nordostbayern GmbH </strong><a href="https://press.siemens.com/global/en/pressrelease/siemens-planning-build-one-europes-most-powerful-battery-storage-facilities" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>signed</strong></a><strong> a letter of intent to construct a 100 MW battery storage facility in Wunsiedel, Germany.  </strong>The 5,000 square meter energy storage facility will have a storage capacity of 200 MWh, intended to use surplus energy to cover peaks in the power grid. Under the agreement, Siemens will handle project management, while Zukunftsenergie Nordostbayern GmbH will store locally generated electricity from renewable energy. The lithium-ion battery storage system will be provided by Fluence, a joint venture between Siemens and AES Corporation.</p>
<p><strong>Siemens Gamesa has </strong><a href="https://www.siemensgamesa.com/en-int/newsroom/2021/07/210720-siemens-gamesa-press-release-renew-india" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>procured</strong></a><strong> an order from ReNew Power to supply wind turbines to a 322 MW wind project in Tondehal. </strong>This agreement follows a 301 MW order with ReNew for a wind project in Hombal, signed earlier this month. Both projects combined, Siemens Gamesa will deliver 180 of its new SG 3.4-145 wind turbines, 93 units for the Tondehal project, and 87 units for the Hombal project. The supply of the turbines from Siemens Gamesa&#8217;s manufacturing plants in India is expected to commence in 2022.</p>
<p><strong>Global Power Synergy Public Company Limited (GPSC), a power subsidiary of PTT Group, </strong><a href="https://www.gpscgroup.com/en/investor-relations/news/press-releases/904/gpscs-energy-storage-unit-factory-starts-operations-solidifying-the-groups-position-as-a-leader-in-total-energy-management-solutions-and-aseans-first-semisolid-battery-producer" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>unveiled</strong></a><strong> its 30 MWh semi-solid energy storage unit factory in Thailand</strong>.  The facility will produce three levels of batteries and energy storage system products: (i) G-Cell, a basic battery pouch cell, (ii) G-Pack, or battery pouch cells assembled into a battery module and a battery pack for light-duty and heavy-duty mobility applications such as EV buses, boats, Tuk Tuks, compact cars and motorbikes, and the stationary energy storage system manufacturing industry, and (iii) G-Box, a ready-to-use Uninterruptible Power Supply unit and an Energy Storage System with a capacity between 10-1,000 kWh. The plant has an initial production capacity of 30 MWh per year, which can be expanded up to 100 MWh per year.</p>
<p><strong>Indian renewable energy company, ReNew Power, has </strong><a href="https://www.businesswire.com/news/home/20210719005741/en/ReNew-Power-Selects-Dassault-Syst%C3%A8mes%E2%80%99-3DEXPERIENCE-Platform-to-Deliver-Cleaner-Smarter-Energy-in-India" target="_blank" rel="noopener"><strong>chosen</strong></a><strong> the Dassault Systèmes&#8217; 3DEXPERIENCE platform to manage its solar, wind, and hybrid EPC projects</strong>. ReNew Power will use the &#8216;Capital Facilities Information Excellence&#8217; industry solution based on the 3DEXPERIENCE platform for digital project management. ReNew Power, with the procurement, aims to leverage the platform&#8217;s powerful analytics capabilities to proactively manage risks and opportunities.</p>
