<p>Sterling &amp; Wilson has won an engineering procurement and construction (EPC) bid to develop a 1,177 MW solar project in Sweihan in the Emirates of Abu Dhabi. Once complete, the project will be the largest solar project at a single location. The timeframe to complete the project is estimated to be 23 months.</p>
<p>The project is being jointly developed by Marubeni, a Japanese integrated trading and investment giant, Jinko, a Chinese PV module manufacturer, and the Abu Dhabi Water and Electricity Authority (ADWEA). The consortium successfully bid a tariff of $0.0242 (~Rs.1.564)/kWh, marking the lowest tariff ever for solar power, stated a Sterling &amp; Wilson <a href="http://sterlingandwilson.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/Sterling%20and%20Wilson%20scales%20new%20heights_%20gets%20awarded%20the%20world%E2%80%99s%20largest%20solar%20PV%20plant.pdf" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">release</a>.</p>
<p>“We are fully geared and very excited to be a part of this important milestone in the global solar market”, said Bikesh Ogra, President of Renewable Energy, Sterling and Wilson.</p>
<p>According to Mercom’s <a href="http://store.mercom.mercomcapital.com/product/q1-2017-india-solar-market-report/" target="_blank" rel="noopener noreferrer">Q1 2017 India Solar Market Update</a>, Sterling &amp; Wilson is the largest utility scale EPC contractor in India with commissioned capacity of approximately 1.3 GW.</p>
