SJVN has issued multiple tenders to develop grid-connected rooftop solar projects with a cumulative capacity of 10.59 MW across government buildings in India’s northern, southern, and eastern regions.
Bids must be submitted by May 27, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.
Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹1,000 (~$11.74)/kW of the quoted capacity.
Successful bidders must submit a performance bank guarantee of ₹2,500 (~$29.35)/kW of the accepted final project capacity.
The tenders are spread across the following locations:
- The Northern region, covering 2,496 kW rooftop solar installations in Delhi, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, and Uttar Pradesh.
- The Southern region, covering 5,140 kW of installations across Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, Puducherry, and Lakshadweep.
- The Eastern region, covering 2,954 kW of installations in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Manipur, Meghalaya, Mizoram, Nagaland, Odisha, Sikkim, Tripura, West Bengal, and the Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
Each project site will have a minimum capacity of 10 kW. However, sites with higher rooftop areas may accommodate larger systems, depending on technical feasibility and site-specific assessments.
The scope of work for each tender includes the design, engineering, procurement, installation, testing, and commissioning of the projects. It also involves providing comprehensive operation and maintenance services for 25 years. The systems must be compatible with either net or gross metering per each state’s utility regulations.
All net-metering projects commissioned on or after June 1, 2026, must mandatorily source their solar modules from ALMM List-I and solar cells from ALMM List-II.
Bidders must have commissioned solar projects with a minimum capacity of 500 kW in the last seven years. Of this, at least one project with a minimum capacity of 100 kW must have been operating for at least six months.
Bidders must have a minimum average annual turnover of ₹15,000 (~$176.10)/kW of the total quoted capacity during the three financial years ending on March 31, 2024.
Recently, SJVN invited bids to install a 1.604 MW grid-connected rooftop solar system on government buildings in Arunachal Pradesh under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.
