Renewable energy developer, Serentica Renewables has invited expressions of interest (EoI) from land aggregators and renewable energy park facilitators to develop 5 GW of solar power projects in Rajasthan.
The last date to submit bids is July 18, 2025.
Serentica Energy plans to acquire/lease 20,000 acres for the 5 GW solar projects. Bidders must be capable of facilitating land and/or renewable energy parks, including grid-level infrastructure at both the Central and State transmission networks.
The company is developing 4 GW of solar and wind power projects across Rajasthan, Maharashtra, and Karnataka. These include a 260 MW round-the-clock (RTC) solar park in Bikaner, Rajasthan, 950 MW RTC parks in Gadag and Koppal, Karnataka, and 350 MW RTC wind parks at two sites in Kallam, Maharashtra.
The energy parks in Karnataka will comprise 450 MW of solar and wind projects in Gadag and 500 MW of solar and wind projects in Koppal.
Serentica has an installed renewable energy capacity of 1 GW across multiple states. It is backed by a $650 million (~₹55.53 billion) investment from KKR to supply over 50 billion units of clean energy annually.
In June this year, the company announced the closure of its debt financing of over $100 million (~₹8.54 billion) from Rabobank and Société Générale. The funds will be used to develop a 300 MW solar project in Rajasthan. The project will supply power to Bharat Aluminium Company, a subsidiary of the Vedanta Group.
Earlier, it entered a power supply and consumption agreement with INOX Air Products to deliver 75 MW of hybrid renewable energy. The agreement will allow INOXAP to use power flexibly across multiple locations in India through the interstate transmission system framework.
Serentica was identified as the second biggest open-access developer, according to Mercom’s India Solar Market Leaderboard report.
In January, it secured ₹35 billion (~$425 million) in debt funding for its RTC renewable energy project.
