SECI Issues Tender for 7.5 MW Solar Project in Rajasthan


The Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI) has invited bids to develop a 7.5 MW solar photovoltaic (PV) power project in Badi Sid, Rajasthan.

Bids must be submitted by July 24, 2024, along with an earnest money deposit of ₹8.4 million (~$100,000).

The scope of work includes design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing and commissioning. The project also includes ten years of operation and maintenance.

Bidders should have experience in either the development or engineering, procurement, and construction of ground-mounted solar PV projects with a cumulative capacity of at least 3.75 MW in the last seven years, along with executing at least two grid-connected solar PV projects of 750 kW or above in the last seven years.

Bidders must have a minimum average annual turnover of ₹170 million ($2.05 million) in the last three financial years and a positive net worth for the last financial year. They must also have a minimum working capital of ₹80 million ($965,000).

The tender requires that both solar cells and modules be made in India. They must meet the specifications and testing requirements set by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). The solar modules must come from manufacturers listed in the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers.

The tender allows the participation of joint ventures/consortiums with a maximum of three partners. The lead partner must meet 100% of the technical criteria and at least 50% of the financial criteria.

In January, SECI invited bids to set up 1,500 MW inter-state transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar power projects in India under Tranche XIV.

Recently, SECI invited bids to develop 400 MW of ISTS-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects under Tranche IX.

Earlier, it invited bids to set up 1,000 MW/2,000 MWh standalone battery energy storage systems in India under tariff-based global competitive bidding.
