Rs.2.20 (~$0.034)/kWh is the lowest quoted tariff to develop a solar rooftop project under the RESCO mode. Mundra Solar PV quoted the tariff to set up a solar rooftop project in Andaman & Nicobar in response to the Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) 500 MW tender to set up rooftop solar projects across various states in India.

The tariffs quoted ranged between a high of Rs.4.59 (~$0.071)/kWh quoted in Bihar and a low of Rs.2.20 (~$0.034)/kWh quoted in Andaman & Nicobar. The SECI has published a tentative list of the lowest tariffs for each state. The final list is expected to be uploaded by July 24, 2017, which may have minor variations.

Mercom previously reported that the SECI reduced the levelized ceiling tariff for the amended 500 MW rooftop solar tender; the new tariff for general category states and union territories is Rs.5.97 (~$0.092)/kWh, and Rs.4.42 (~$0.068)/kWh for special category states and union territories.

Initially the SECI had tendered 1,000 MW of rooftop solar, but reduced the capacity to 500 MW after if found in a survey that the proposed potential capacities related to all the states, union territories and islands comes out to be 500 MW combined in both Part-A (CAPEX) and Part-B (RESCO).
