RPSG Solvanta, the solar manufacturing wing of the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group, has announced the commissioning of its 4 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh.
According to the Group, the facility will focus on adopting advanced photovoltaic technologies, including tunnel oxide passivated contact (TOPCon), interdigitated back contact, and perovskite-based solar cells.
The facility’s commissioning is part of RPSG’s renewable energy expansion strategy, as it sets the groundwork for building an integrated solar ecosystem encompassing cell, module, and upstream manufacturing at scale.
The company’s product portfolio includes the G12R GG bifacial and M10R GG bifacial solar modules that can be deployed in large-scale, commercial, and utility projects.
The company claimed that the G12R GG bifacial modules, designed using large-format G12 rectangular wafers, deliver a power output of between 610 W and 630 W with a module efficiency of up to 23.30%. The M10R GG bifacial modules offer an output of 580 W to 600 W and up to 23.20% efficiency.
Both series feature a bifacial glass-to-glass design to enhance energy generation and a positive power tolerance of 0 to +5 W.
RPSG Group, through its flagship company Calcutta Electric Supply Corporation (CESC), has been supplying power to Kolkata and adjoining regions in West Bengal since 1899.
The group’s current thermal power generation capacity stands at 2,400 MW. It also has operational wind and solar projects in Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and Tamil Nadu.
Last July, Sandeep Kashyap of the RP Sanjiv Goenka Group announced that the company had earmarked Odisha for its green hydrogen projects, with a capital expenditure of ₹9 billion (~$107.5 million). He said the company will source renewable energy from third parties to meet the demand for 6 to 6.5 million tons of green hydrogen.
As of September 2025, India’s module manufacturing capacity under the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers stood at 109,545 MW.
