Reliance NU Energies, Sembcorp Green Infra, Solarcraft Power India 8 (BluPine Energy), and ACME Solar Holdings have won SJVN’s auction to supply 6 GWh (1.5 GW x 4 Hours) of assured peak power from interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected renewable energy projects with energy storage system (ESS).
Reliance and Sembcorp both quoted a tariff of ₹6.74 (~$0.0760)/kWh to win 750 MW and 150 MW, respectively.
Solarcraft secured 150 MW at a tariff of ₹6.75 (~$0.0761)/kWh.
ACME won 450 MW, out of the quoted 600 MW, under the bucket filling method.
The tender was floated in December last year.
The peak time is four hours, which can be between 00:00 to 08:00 and 17:00 to 24:00, daily.
Different components, such as solar or wind capacities and storage, can be connected to the grid at various ISTS sub-stations.
The minimum voltage level for interconnection at the ISTS must be 220 kV.
The power purchase agreement (PPA) will be valid for a period of 25 years from the scheduled commencement of supply date or the date of commencement of supply of full project capacity, whichever is later.
The selected bidders must supply power such that 100% of the annual energy delivered qualifies as renewable energy. However, to meet the supply requirements under the/PPA, they may procure up to 5% of the annual renewable energy from green market sources or through bilateral agreements.
Only commercially established and operational technologies must be used in the project to mitigate technology risks and ensure timely commissioning.
The wind turbines used in the projects must be type-certified models listed in the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE).
Additionally, the solar photovoltaic modules used in the projects must be included in MNRE’s List-I under the Approved Models and Manufacturers of Solar Photovoltaic Modules.
In May this year, SAEL Industries, Jindal India Renewable Energy, Sembcorp Green, JBM Renewables, Fastnote Biofuels (Hindustan Power), and Reliance NU Energies won SJVN’s auction to develop 1,200 MW ISTS-connected solar power projects with 600 MW/2,400 MWh ESS.
