REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) has invited bids to establish an interstate transmission system (ISTS) to augment the Bhadla-III, Ramgarh pooling station, and Kanpur substation to evacuate 20 GW of renewable power in Rajasthan.
The scope of work includes the establishment, operation, and maintenance of the project on a build, own, operate, and transfer basis, and completion of all the activities for the project, including survey, detailed project report formulation, arranging finance, project management, design, engineering, construction, erection, testing, and commissioning.
The last date to submit bids is May 28, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.
Bidders must submit ₹174 million (~$1.85 million) as bid security.
Within 10 days of the Letter of Intent’s issuance, the selected bidder, on behalf of the transmission service provider, must provide a contract performance guarantee of ₹435 million (~$4.63 million).
Bidders should have developed infrastructure projects in the last five years, with an aggregate capital expenditure of at least ₹8.7 billion (~$92.54 million). The capital expenditure for each project should be at least ₹1.74 billion (~$18.51 million).
Alternatively, they should have received aggregate payments of at least ₹8.7 billion (~$92.54 million) for construction works fully completed during the last five financial years. The payment received for each project should be at least ₹1.74 billion (~$18.51 million).
The net worth of the bidders should be at least ₹3.48 billion.
The project should be commissioned by January 20, 2029.
The transmission service provider should ensure the transfer of all project assets, along with substation land, right-of-way, and clearances, to the Central Transmission Utility (CTU) after 35 years from the commissioning date. The transfer should be completed within 90 days, failing which the CTU will be entitled to take over the project assets.
Recently, RECPDCL invited bids to establish an intrastate transmission system to evacuate power from a 2 GW pumped-storage project at the Sharavathi complex in Karnataka. The project will cover multiple locations, including Sharavathi, Guttur in the Davangere district, and Talaguppa in Karnataka.
Earlier, RECPDCL issued a request for proposal to set up an ISTS to evacuate power from a 2,000 MW solar park at Ryapte, in Karnataka’s Tumkur district.
