RECPDCL Invites Bids to Evacuate 2 GW of Power from Solar Park in Tumkur

REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) has issued a request for proposal for developing a 2,000 MW intrastate transmission system to evacuate power from a proposed solar park at Ryapte village in Tumkur district, Karnataka.
Bids must be submitted by August 12, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same date.
Bidders must furnish a bid bond of ₹197.8 million (~$2.29 million), and a tender document fee of ₹500,000 (~$5,820) plus 18% GST.
Selected bidders must submit a contract performance guarantee of ₹494.6 million (~$5.74 million) within 10 days of the letter of intent.
The project must be commissioned within 24 months. It will be implemented under the build, own, operate, and transfer model.
The scope of work involves the development of two 400/220 kV substations at Ryapte and Doddathaggalli (near Hoskote), and multiple associated 400 kV and 220 kV double-circuit transmission lines. It also involves the establishment of terminal bays at the existing substations at Kolar, Malur, Ekarajapura, Hosakote New, and Sarjapura.
Selected bidders must complete the entire project, including survey, financing, obtaining approvals, land coordination, and construction. They must also conduct operations and maintenance of the transmission system.
Bidders must have developed infrastructure projects or executed engineering, procurement, and construction work worth ₹9.89 billion (~$114.72 million), with at least one project valued at ₹1.97 billion (~$22.85 million) in the past five years.
Bidders must have a minimum net worth of ₹3.95 billion (~$45.82 million) in any of the last three financial years.
In May this year, RECPDCL invited bids to set up an interstate transmission system (ISTS) to integrate 3 GW of renewable energy at Ananthapuram-II Renewable Energy Zone (Phase-II) in Andhra Pradesh.
In the same month, RECPDCL invited bids to establish an ISTS in Davanagere and Chitradurga, Karnataka, to integrate renewable energy generation.
