RECPDCL Invites Bids to Evacuate 3 GW of Renewable Energy in Karnataka

REC Power Development and Consultancy (RECPDCL) has invited bids to set up an interstate transmission system (ISTS) to integrate 250 MW of renewable energy at Davanagere and 2.75 GW at Bellary in Karnataka.
The work must be completed within 24 months from the date of work allocation.
Bids must be submitted by November 28, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.
Bidders must furnish a document fee of ₹500,000 (~$5,637) plus GST and a bid bond of ₹164 million (~$1.84 million).
Selected bidders must remit ₹410 million (~$4.62 million) as a contract performance guarantee within ten days from the letter of intent.
The scope of work involves augmenting the transformation capacity at Davanagere Pooling Station by installing 2×1500 MVA, 765/400 kV ICTs (6th & 7th). This includes two 765/400 kV, 1500 MVA ICTs, two 765 kV ICT bays, two 400 kV ICT bays, and one set of 400 kV bus sectionalizer.
The developers must also set up four 220 kV line bays and one 400 kV line bay at Davanagere Pooling Station for the termination of dedicated transmission lines from renewable energy projects, comprising one 400 kV line bay and four 220 kV line bays.
They must augment of Bellary Pooling Station with 400/220 kV, 6×500 MVA ICTs, with the scheduled COD set at 24 months from the date of SPV transfer. The works include six 400/220 kV, 500 MVA ICTs, six 400 kV ICT bays, six 220 kV ICT bays, two sets of 220 kV bus sectionalizer, two 220 kV bus coupler bays, and two 220 kV transfer bus coupler bays.
The developers must also establish the Bellary–Davanagere 2nd 400 kV (Quad) double-circuit line, including two 400 kV line bays at Bellary PS and two 400 kV line bays at Davanagere/Chitradurga PS. The developers must also set up provision for five 220 kV line bays at Bellary PS for termination of dedicated transmission lines of renewable energy developers, comprising five 220 kV line bays.
Bidders must have developed infrastructure projects with a minimum total capital expenditure of ₹8.2 billion (~$92.45 million) in the last five years, with each project having a capital expenditure of at least ₹1.64 billion (~$18.49 million).
Alternatively, bidders must have received total payments of at least ₹8.2 billion (~$92.45 million) from clients for construction works fully completed in the last five financial years. Each project must have generated minimum payments of ₹1.64 billion (~$18.49 million).
Bidders must have a minimum net worth of ₹3.28 billion (~$36.98 million) in any of the past three years, with no negative net worth reported during this period.
In May this year, RECPDCL invited bids to set up an ISTS to integrate 3 GW of renewable energy at Ananthapuram-II Renewable Energy Zone (Phase-II) in Andhra Pradesh.
In March this year, RECPDCL invited bids for developing an ISTS to evacuate 2,500 MW of renewable energy in Madhya Pradesh.
