Rajasthan Electronics and Instruments Limited (REIL), a joint venture between the Government of Rajasthan and India, has invited bids to procure 40,000 aluminum channels and aluminum corner keys for solar modules with 72 cells with a wattage of 300 W or more. Of the 40,000 aluminum channels, 20,000  should be 997 mm and 1,972 mm, respectively.

The last date to submit online bids is January 11, 2022. Bids will be opened the next day.

According to the tender document, aluminum channels should be natural matt finished white anodized, and anodized thickness must be over 15 microns. Aluminum corner keys must be mill finished.

Only bidders approved by REIL can take part in the competitive bidding process. REIL will consider new vendors for development orders subject to completion of the vendor registration process, sample approval, and compliance with techno-commercial conditions.

REIL said that 25% of the tendered quantity had been earmarked for micro and small enterprise (MSE) suppliers. Of this 25% earmarked quantity, 20% has been allocated for procurement from MSEs owned by Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe entrepreneurs.

If any MSE vendor quotes within the price band of the lowest bid (L1) + 15% and accepts the L1 price, the vendor will be allowed to supply the portion of the requirement. If there is more than one such MSE vendor, the supply will be shared proportionately.

The successful bidder must supply aluminum channels and corners in a lot of 500 or 1,000 sets. A test report and qualification certificate should accompany all consignments from the product manufacturer, indicating compliance with the required specification. The rate contract period for the tender is up to June 2022.

If the vendor fails to deliver the aluminum channels on time, liquidated damages at 1% of the value of the items weekly, subject to a maximum of 10% of the price of each unit so delayed, will accrue.

Earlier this month, REIL invited bids to supply 200,000 monocrystalline or multicrystalline silicon solar cells of 4.57 W.

Last month, it invited bids to procure 7,000 solar modules with a wattage output of 380 W to 390 W made from 72 monocrystalline or mono passivated emitter and rear cell (PERC) solar cells.
