The Jaipur Division of North Western Railway has floated two tenders to install 2.68 MW grid-connected rooftop solar projects across the station and non-station buildings and platform shelters within the division.

The first tender is for a 1.36 MW project, which includes installing solar power systems for railway stations, encompassing both the station building and platform shelters. The second tender for a 1.32 MW project is aimed at non-railway station buildings within the Jaipur division.

The last date for the submission of bids is January 8, 2024. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders will have six months to complete each project.

For the 1.36 MW tender, the advertised value of the projects is ₹77.1 million (~$929,172). Bidders must submit an earnest money deposit of ₹535,700 (~$6,452.7).

For the 1.32 MW tender, the advertised value of the projects is ₹72.8 million (~$877,552). Bidders have to submit an earnest money deposit of ₹ 514200 (~$6,195.7).

Bidders should demonstrate a minimum average annual contractual turnover of V/N or V, whichever is lower, where V represents the advertised value of the tender in rupees, and N is the number of years stipulated for the completion of the work for which bids are solicited.

The average annual contractual turnover is calculated as the mean of “total contractual payments” over the preceding three financial years.

Bidders should possess a valid electrical contractor license issued by the government, which should be submitted along with the tender document. However, the original equipment manufacturer or its authorized dealer is exempt from this licensing requirement.

For this tender, work of a similar nature is defined as the supply, erection, testing, and commissioning of a solar power project with or without battery backup.

Bidders must have completed any of the following within the last seven years, concluding on the last day of the month prior to the invitation of the tender: Three similar works, each costing no less than 30% of the advertised value of the tender; or two similar works, each costing no less than 40% of the advertised value; or one similar work, costing no less than 60% of the advertised value.

Recently, the Jaipur Division of North Western Railways floated a tender to empanel agencies to implement 1 MW rooftop solar power projects on a design, build, finance, operate, and transfer basis.
