Prozeal Wins 25 MW/50 MWh Solar Plus Storage Project in Ladakh
Prozeal Green Energy bid ₹3.13 billion (~$37.2 million) to win the project
October 17, 2024
Solar energy solutions provider Prozeal Green Energy has won Solar Energy Corporation of India’s (SECI) tender for the design, engineering, supply, construction, erection, testing, commissioning, and operation & maintenance (O&M) of a 25 MW solar PV project with an integrated Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Taru, Leh.
The awarded project encompasses a 25 MW (AC) solar project with 50 MWp peak capacity and a 20 MW/50 MWh BESS.
Prozeal Green Energy’s winning bid totals ₹3.13 billion (~$37.2 million). The contract value is divided into three main components:
- Plant and mandatory spare parts: ₹2.2 billion (~$26.1 million)
- Freight, design, civil & installation services: ₹583.2 million (~$6.9 million)
- O&M: ₹280.5 million (~$3.3 million)
The tender for the project was issued in April this year. It specified that only modules from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy’s Approved List for Models and Manufacturers must be used in the project.
According to the tender terms, the entire crystalline silicon technology process, from making wafers to assembling solar cells into modules, must be carried out at the facilities of Indian manufacturers.
The combination of solar power generation and energy storage represents a significant advancement in renewable energy infrastructure for Ladakh’s challenging terrain.
The project, located in Leh, will enhance energy security in this remote region. The substantial battery storage system will help manage solar power intermittency, ensuring a more stable energy supply.
Prozeal Green Energy emerged as one of the top utility-scale solar engineering, procurement, and construction service providers in the calendar year (CY) 2023, according to Mercom’s India Solar Market Leaderboard CY 2023.
At the Mercom India Awards, the company was declared the winner in the Best Commercial and Industrial (Ground-Mount) Project category for its 66 MW solar project in Ottapidaram, Tamil Nadu.
