POWERGRID Invites Bids to Evacuate 2.5 GW of Solar Power in Karnataka

Power Grid Corporation of India (POWERGRID) has invited bids to set up a transmission line package for the pooling station associated with the transmission program for the solar energy zone (2,500 MW) in Bidar, Karnataka.

The project will be developed on a build, own, operate, and transfer basis.

The last date to submit the bids is May 15, 2023. Bids will be opened on May 17.

This tender is open to all firms, including private companies, government-owned enterprises registered and incorporated in India.

The project must be completed within 21 months of receiving the letter of award.

Bidders should have completed the construction of transmission line projects of not less than 100 km of 345 kV or higher voltage class transmission line during the last seven years.

They must have executed the tower foundation, erection and stringing, and supply of tower and tower parts, including the supply of line material related to the project.

They should also have designed and successfully tested the 345 kV or higher voltage class transmission line tower.

The net worth of bidders during the last three financial years should be positive.

Their minimum average annual turnover for the best three financial years out of the last five should be ₹3.57 billion (~$43.65 million). Micro and Small Enterprises (MSEs) must meet 80% of the requirement to qualify for the bidding process.

Additionally, bidders should have liquid assets and evidence of availability of credit facilities of value not less than ₹595.7 million (~$7.28 million).

Recently, POWERGRID Energy Services, a wholly-owned subsidiary of POWERGRID, invited bids to install and commission an 85 MW solar project at Nagda in the Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh.

Earlier, POWERGRID said it would raise unsecured, non-convertible, non-cumulative, redeemable, and taxable bonds worth ₹6 billion (~$72.86 million) through private placement.
