Renewable energy asset management company POWERCON has won a contract from REMC to provide comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services for a 26 MW wind power project at Dangri in Jaisalmer, Rajasthan, for 10 years.

The work also comprises rectification of wind turbine generators and unit substations.

The estimated work cost is ₹259.48 million (~$2.89 million.

The rectification work must be completed within three months of receiving the work order.

The tender was floated in June this year.

The scope of work covers comprehensive O&M of 13 wind turbine generators, each of 2 MW, along with their respective unit substations, up to the 33 kV outgoing isolator.

POWERCON’s responsibilities include round-the-clock operation, monitoring, and control of the WTGs and substations, deputation of qualified technical and support staff, and maintenance of all equipment, buildings, internal roads, and associated infrastructure within the project boundary. This includes routine, preventive, and scheduled maintenance, as well as immediate response to breakdowns, troubleshooting, repairs, replacements, and overhauls as required.

All maintenance activities must strictly follow OEM guidelines and prudent utility practices, with proper documentation and maintenance records maintained throughout the contract period.

The scope also covers the supply and management of spares, consumables, tools, tackles, cranes, and safety equipment, as well as ensuring project security and workplace health, safety, and environmental compliance.

POWERCON must carry out regular inspections, lubrication, cleaning, corrosion prevention, oil filtration, earthing checks, and fire-protection measures. Detailed daily and monthly reports on energy generation, machine availability, downtime, preventive maintenance, and breakdowns must be submitted to REMCL.

Additionally, POWERCON must liaise with statutory authorities, utilities, and government agencies to support smooth project operation and compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.

India added 1.4 GW of wind energy capacity in the third quarter (Q3) of 2025, a 105% year-over-year increase from 706.5 MW in Q3 2024, according to Mercom India Research. Capacity additions, however, fell 11% compared to Q2 2025.

Quarter-over-quarter installations declined after the expiry of the waiver on interstate transmission system charges. Delays in grid connectivity, limited transmission capacity, and land acquisition challenges also contributed to the slowdown in project execution.
