Patria Investments, an alternative asset manager in Latin America, has sold its entire stake in the 360 MW Puerta de Oro solar project in Colombia to ISAGEN, a Colombia-based renewable power generation company.
The transaction marks the first divestment by Patria’s Infrastructure V fund, which the company said is the largest fund of its vintage in Latin America.
Located in the municipalities of Guaduas and Chaguaní in Colombia’s Cundinamarca department, Puerta de Oro has an installed solar capacity of 360 MW. The project comprises more than 511,000 solar modules across approximately 530 hectares. The project is expected to generate approximately 728 GWh of electricity annually.
Puerta de Oro secured more than COP 1 trillion (~$250 million) in project financing from Bancolombia, Grupo Aval, and Financiera de Desarrollo Nacional. The project also received concessional financing from the Inter-American Development Bank and Climate Investment Funds.
Patria invested in Puerta de Oro in 2024 when the project was at an early stage. The Infrastructure V fund supported the project through development, financing, construction, and commercial operation before the sale.
The sale comes approximately 2.5 years after Patria began developing Puerta de Oro from an early-stage project to commercial operation.
Patria has previously developed other solar projects in Latin America through its infrastructure investments. Through its infrastructure fund, the company also created Essentia, whose Sol do Sertão solar project in Brazil was completed in 2021.
According to Mercom’s 1H and Q2 2026 Solar Funding and M&A report, approximately 25.2 GW of solar projects were acquired in the first half of 2026, compared to 19.9 GW in the first half of 2025.
In September 2026, Kelag International, part of Austrian energy provider Kelag Group, which develops, operates, and manages renewable energy projects, acquired eight photovoltaic projects in Italy with a total planned capacity of about 64.4 MW and expected annual electricity generation of about 107 GWh.
