O&M Tender Floated for a 1.5 MW Rooftop Solar Project at Chennai Airport

The Airports Authority of India (AAI) has invited bids for facility management and comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) of the 1.5 MW grid-connected rooftop solar project at integrated cargo complex, Chennai Airport. The tender agreement will cover a period of three years, from August 1, 2021, to July 31, 2024.

The estimated cost of the contract is ₹16.3 million (~$221,989).

The last date to submit the bids is May 31, 2021, and bids will be opened on June 2.

Interested parties will not have to pay any earnest money deposit to participate in the bidding.

The bidder should have experience in the operation and maintenance of a grid-connected solar power project of capacity not less than 1.5 MW during the last seven years. The bidder should have experience executing three works of 40% of the estimated cost of the contract, or two works of 50% of the estimated cost of the project, or one work of 80% of the project’s estimated cost.

The value of executed works will be brought to the current costing level by enhancing the actual value of work at a simple rate of 7% per annum, calculated from the last date of bid submission to the date of completion of the contract.

The bidder’s average financial turnover should be at least ₹1.56 million (~$21,245) during the last three financial years, and the bidder’s net worth should be ₹778,993 (~$10,609).

According to the installation details provided, there are 4,850 solar modules of 310 W capacity supplied by Emmvee and two grid-tied inverters supplied by TMEIC of 750 kW each. The installation was executed by RelyOn Solar which was responsible for the O&M of the system for three years until April 30, 2021. The extended contract period is scheduled to end in July 2021.

Recently, AAI invited bids for comprehensive O&M of a 2 MW of rooftop solar project for three years at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose International Airport in Kolkata.

Earlier, AAI had issued a notice inviting contractors for the operation and annual comprehensive maintenance of a 300 kW solar PV power project.  The tender was for three years, with the project located in Uttar Pradesh’s Prayagraj.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, AAI has issued tenders for over 102 MW of rooftop solar systems as of March 31, 2021.
