NTPC Renewable Energy, a wholly owned subsidiary of NTPC, has invited bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) package to develop 650 MW grid-connected solar projects at Bikaner, Rajasthan.

The last date for the submission of bids is December 12, 2023. Bids will be opened the same day.

The scope of the work includes design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation, unloading storage, installation, testing, and commissioning of the project, including the supply of solar modules.

Bidders have to submit ₹22500 (~$270) as the cost of the bidding document.

Every bid submission should be supported by a bid security. For a single block (325 MW), the bid security is ₹200 million (~$2.4 million) and ₹500 million (~$6 million) for two blocks (2X325MW).

Bidders have to meet the following criteria for eligibility:

  • The bidder should be either a developer or have a track record of designing, supplying, erecting/supervising erection, and commissioning/supervising commissioning of grid-connected solar projects with a cumulative installed capacity of 40 MW or more.
  • At least one of these projects must have a capacity of 10 MW or higher and should have been in operation for a minimum of six months before the date of bid opening.
  • Alternatively, the bidder should have executed an industrial project in the last ten years, either as a developer or as an EPC contractor, in sectors such as power, steel, oil and gas, petrochemical, fertilizer, cement, coal mining (including coal handling plant), or any other process industry. The project should have been in operation for at least one year before the date of the bid opening.

Additionally, the project itself should have the required financial value as mentioned below:

  • For a single block (325 MW), the minimum financial figure is ₹2.6 billion (~$31.2 million).
  • For two blocks (2X325 MW), the minimum financial figure is ₹5.2 billion (~$62.4 million).

Earlier, NTPC Renewable Energy had issued a tender for the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, and commissioning of a 250 MW/500 MWh grid-connected standalone battery energy storage system near Fatehgarh-III ISTS substation in Rajasthan.
