NTPC Tenders 241 MW of Solar Under DCR Category

The National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC) has tendered another 241 MW of solar in three separate projects under the domestic content requirement (DCR) category to be developed across the states of Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan. NTPC also tendered an additional 15 MW operations and maintenance (O&M) contracts for commissioned projects.

DCR Tender: 86 MW Kawas-Gandhar Solar Project, Gujarat

Eighty-six MW will be tendered in Gujarat with capacity consisting of a 65 MW solar project to be developed at the NTPC Kawas premises and a 21 MW solar project to be developed at Gandhar Gas Power Project premises. The entire capacity will be awarded to a single contract that will provide engineering procurement construction (EPC) and O&M services for 15-years. The bid-submission deadline is October 10, 2017.

DCR Tender: 22 MW Auraiya Solar Project, Uttar Pradesh

A 22 MW solar project will be tendered in Auraiya, Uttar Pradesh. The project to be awarded to a single bidder in a single block of 22 MW. The project will be developed on turnkey basis and the bid-submission deadline is October 11, 2017.

DCR Module Package133 MW Anta Solar Project, Rajasthan

133 MW of solar was also tendered in the state of Rajasthan. The project will be developed at the Anta Combined Cycle Power Project in Kota. The bid-submission deadline is October 10, 2017.

The NTPC will finance all the projects through internal resources. The scope of work for all the projects includes: design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, packing and forwarding, transportation, unloading, storage, installation, and commissioning of the project. The successful bidders will also provide O&M services for 15 years.

Operations Contract: 15 MW Singrauli Solar Project, Uttar Pradesh

The NTPC also issued an operation tender to provide operation services for the 15 MW Singrauli Solar Project in Uttar Pradesh. The bid-submission deadline is August 29, 2017. According to Mercom’s India Solar Project Tracker, the Singrauli Solar Project was commissioned in December 2014.

With the portfolio of commissioned solar projects totaling 870 MW, NTPC is ranked as the third largest solar project developer in our recently released Q2 2017 India Solar Market Update, trailing behind Tata Power and Adani.

Last week NTPC tendered 250 MW of solar under DCR category to be developed anywhere across India.

Mercom first reported that the MNRE has proposed 7.5 GW of solar to be developed using domestically manufactured solar cells and modules during the second phase of its CPSU program.
