NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam Limited (NVVN), a wholly-owned subsidiary of NTPC Limited, has issued a tender for 30 MW of grid-connected rooftop, ground-mounted, and elevated structure solar photovoltaic (PV) projects in the state of Madhya Pradesh.

The scope of work includes the design, engineering, supply, construction, installation, testing, commissioning of the projects along with ten years of operations and maintenance (O&M) projects.

Interested bidders are expected to make an earnest money deposit (EMD) of ₹5 million (~$68,071). The last date for submitting the bids is January 7, 2020.

To be eligible to participate in the competitive bidding process, bidders must have previously designed, supplied, and commissioning solar PV projects with a cumulative capacity of at least 5 MW. At least one of these projects must be 500 kW or larger and should have been operational for the last six months. Solar power project developers who meet these requirements are also allowed to place bids.

Alternatively, bidders who have executed industrial projects as an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractor or a developer in the power, steel, oil, gas, petrochemical, fertilizer, cement, or coal mining sectors worth ₹400 million (~$5.4 million) in the last ten years are eligible to apply. They must have executed at least one 11 kV electrical substation in the last year.

Prospective applicants are also expected to have had an average annual turnover of ₹410 million (~$5.6 million) over the last three years. Their net worth must not be less than 100% of their paid-up share capital.

Recently, NVVN also invited bids for setting up a 3 MW grid-connected rooftop solar project at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Jodhpur.

Previously, it invited bids for 50 MW (AC) of grid-connected solar PV projects at Panchet in Jharkhand. The scope of work included the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of 50 MW of solar PV projects on approximately 290 acres of land at Panchet in the state of Jharkhand.

According to Mercom’s India Solar Tender Tracker, NVVN has issued tenders for 40.2 MW of rooftop solar projects as of December 2020.
