NTPC Green Energy has invited expressions of interest (EoI) from renewable energy companies having power purchase agreements (PPA) with intermediary procurers to acquire solar projects with a minimum cumulative capacity of 50 MW.

This EoI aims to support NTPC Green’s mission of expanding its clean energy footprint through the inorganic route.

Bids must be submitted by May 27, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Only operational projects where land and grid connectivity have been secured will be eligible. Each project must have a minimum cumulative capacity of 50 MW and be backed by a valid PPA with NTPC and/or NTPC Vidyut Vyapar Nigam as an intermediary procurer.

The project land must be owned outright (freehold) or held under a valid lease agreement. If the land is leased, the lease tenure must extend at least through the remaining useful life of the project. The PPA must have a minimum residual term of 10 years from the bid submission date. For operational projects, appropriate operations and maintenance arrangements must be in place.

The project’s asset-holding entity must be registered in India under the ownership structure. The structure must also offer a 100% equity stake available for acquisition.

All necessary statutory and environmental clearances must be secured for operational projects, and the assets must be covered by valid insurance.

NTPC Green has an installed capacity of 6 GW and an additional 12 GW under implementation. The company has a goal of achieving 60 GW by FY 2032.

Recently, NTPC Green Energy invited bids for land and an extra-high-voltage transmission system package to develop up to 900 MW interstate transmission system (ISTS)-connected solar projects in Bhuj, Gujarat.

NTPC Renewable Energy invited bids for a land and power evacuation package to develop 230 MW ISTS-connected solar projects with a battery energy storage system near the 230 MW Ettayapuram solar project in Tamil Nadu.
