NTPC Green Energy has invited bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of a 6 MW floating solar project with a 6 MW/24 MWh battery energy storage system (BESS) at the Atal Bihari Vajpayee Thermal Power Station under the Chhattisgarh State Power Generation Company.
The last date to submit bids is January 12, 2026. Bids will be opened on January 31.
The scope of work covers the design, engineering, installation, and commissioning of the project on a turnkey basis.
It also covers comprehensive operation and maintenance (O&M) services for five years.
Successful bidders must also provide a 10-year annual maintenance contract and sign a long-term service agreement for the BESS to ensure performance beyond the initial five-year O&M period.
The project entails the development of the power evacuation system and associated equipment, including integration with the existing 11 kV station bus, along with any required switchgear modifications, materials, and services.
The BESS must be designed for at least 15 years and for daily single-cycle operation.
Successful bidders will be responsible for grid compliance studies, reactive power compensation, and power quality compliance for the entire solar-plus-storage system up to the grid interconnection point.
The projects must maintain a minimum guaranteed power generation from the floating solar project.
All associated electrical and civil works required for interconnection with the grid will be the responsibility of the successful bidders.
Successful bidders must provide a warranty for the BESS and its constituent equipment.
Recently, NTPC Renewable Energy invited bids for the EPC of a 250 MW solar project with a 50 MW/200 MWh BESS in Sitapur, Uttar Pradesh.
In August 2025, NTPC Green Energy invited expressions of interest for the EPC of 5 MW ground-mounted solar projects with a 4 MW/12 MWh BESS and a floating solar project of up to 20 MW on Great Nicobar Island.
