NTPC has issued an engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) tender to develop a 2 MW solar project at Dump C of its Pakri Barwadih Coal Mining Project in Jharkhand’s Hazaribagh district.
Bids must be submitted by October 8, 2025. Bids will be opened on the same day.
Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹2 million (~$22,654.42).
Selected bidders must submit a performance bank guarantee of 5% of the contract value during the construction period and 10% during the operation and maintenance (O&M) period. A third tranche of bank guarantee must be submitted at the beginning of the O&M period.
The scope of work includes the design, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar project. It includes providing O&M for three years.
The project’s electrical interconnection must be at a 33 kV voltage level.
Selected bidders must extend the power for the project construction from the low-tension source at a distance of 1.5 km from the site. Alternatively, they must arrange a diesel generator set of suitable capacity to meet the construction’s energy needs.
If power is extended from NTPC’s source, selected bidders must arrange the cabling to the project site. They must also provide all the spare equipment for the project and conduct its civil works.
Selected bidders must obtain all the clearances from the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, the Chief Electrical Inspector, the Central Electricity Authority, the Directorate General of Mines Safety, and the distribution companies (DISCOMs). They must also provide the liaison work and paperwork on behalf of NTPC for its power purchase agreement with the relevant DISCOM.
The scope of work also includes providing metering (generation gross and net meter), a remote monitoring system, and a supervisory control and data acquisition facility. Additionally, it involves replacing the project sites’ existing meter with bi-directional energy meters.
Successful bidders must conduct a topographical survey of the project site.
The project must utilize 570 W solar panels that comply with the domestic content requirement and the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers of solar photovoltaic modules.
The project must have a capacity utilization factor of 24%.
Shortfall in project performance will attract a penalty of ₹ 5(~$0.057)/kWh.
Bidders must be Class-I local suppliers, complying with a minimum local content requirement of 60 %.
Recently, NTPC invited bids for the bi-annual O&M of a 20 MW floating solar project and for providing manpower for a 20 MW ground-mounted solar project at NTPC’s Auraiya Gas Power Station, Dibiyapur, in Uttar Pradesh.
