NLC India has received a letter of acceptance from the National Capital Region Transport Corporation (NCRTC) for setting up 110 MW ground-mounted solar projects in Uttar Pradesh.

The tender was floated in August 2025.

The projects will be developed in captive mode.

The scope of work includes establishing the 110 MW solar projects through a special-purpose vehicle. Apart from installing the projects, NLC India must also install the transmission network up to the interconnection/delivery point to supply power to NCRTC.

It must also supply all project equipment, including the solar panels, inverters, DC and AC cables, solar energy distribution system, electrical substation, weather monitoring system, energy monitoring system, and transmission lines for grid connectivity.

The scope of work includes providing fencing for the boundary walls, security arrangements, water connection, and the equipment for the project’s operation and maintenance. NLC India must also obtain the connectivity and approvals for the projects’ interconnection with the interstate or intrastate transmission networks or the state transmission unit networks.

The projects must be completed within 24 months from the effective date of the 25-year power purchase agreement.

Recently, NLC India invited bids for the manufacturing and supply of 565.6 MWp crystalline bifacial solar modules for an 810 MW solar project at the RVUN Solar Park in Pugal, Bikaner, Rajasthan.

In the same month, NLC India invited bids to procure 579.74 MWp solar modules for an 810 MW project at Rajasthan Rajya Vidyut Utpadan Nigam’s solar park at Pugal in Bikaner district.

In November this year, NCRTC implemented an innovative ‘Solar on Track’ project at the Namo Bharat Depot in Duhai, Ghaziabad, where solar panels have been installed on the tracks. This initiative is expected to generate about 17,500 kWh of energy annually.

NLC recently secured a green loan of ¥154.64 billion (~$100 million) from Sumitomo Mitsui Banking Corporation to fund renewable energy projects.
