NHPC has invited bids to set up a 7.8 MW wind power project in the Palakkad district of Kerala. The successful bidder will also be responsible for the project’s operations and maintenance for five years.

The last date to submit bids is April 27, 2026. Bids will be opened on April 29, 2026.

Bidders must submit ₹10.1 million (~$107,539) as an earnest money deposit.

The successful bidder must furnish a performance bank guarantee equal to 5% of the contract value.

Bidders should be manufacturers of wind turbine generator models of a minimum 750 kW capacity included in the Revised List of Models and Manufacturers issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy, or they should have experience in engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) work of a wind power project of a minimum wind turbine rated capacity of 750 kW.

Alternatively, they should have completed one similar work of at least 6.3 MW, or two similar works of at least 3.9 MW each, or three similar works of at least 3.2 MW each during the last seven years.

The average annual turnover of bidders in the last two financial years should be at least ₹342 million (~$3.64 million).

They should have a positive net worth in at least two of the last three financial years.

Bidders should have a working capital of ₹52 million (~$553,665) to meet the project’s capital requirements.

Preference will be given to Class I and Class II local suppliers. For Class I local suppliers, local content should be greater than 50%; for Class II local suppliers, it should be at least 20% but less than 50%.

The wind turbine’s voltage will be stepped up to 33 kV to connect to the 33 kV project transmission line, which will be developed by the EPC contractor and will be further evacuated by connecting to the Kerala State Electricity Board transmission network through a circuit breaker arrangement, along with control, protection, and metering.

Recently, NHPC invited bids to set up 23.34 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar projects on government buildings across the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir under the PM Surya Ghar: Muft Bijli Yojana.

Earlier, NHPC invited bids to select developers to set up 1.2 GW of interstate transmission system-connected wind-solar hybrid power projects, with or without energy storage (Tranche-X).
