Municipal Corporation in Maharashtra Invites Bids for 22 EV Charging Stations

Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) has invited bids to set up 22 public electric vehicle (EV) charging stations at various locations under its jurisdiction.

The project will be developed on a build, own, and operate basis. The successful bidder will have to take care of the operation and maintenance of the project for eight years.

The last date to submit the bids online is September 14, 2023. Bids will be opened on September 18.

The project’s estimated cost is ₹151.8 million (~$1.84 million).

Bidders must submit ₹759,000 (~$9,179) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder will have to furnish ₹7.59 million (~$91,794) as a security deposit before the execution of the agreement in the form of a bank guarantee.

The project must be completed within six months from the date of the notice to proceed.

The bidding firms should have been in existence for at least three financial years.

They should have experience in executing at least one project with a minimum of 18 public EV charging stations or, at least two projects with a minimum of 11 public EV charging stations each, or at least three projects with a minimum of nine public EV charging stations each in the last three years.

They should have completed one project of similar nature worth ₹121.4 million (~$1.47 million), or two similar projects worth ₹75.9 million (~$917,942) each, or three similar projects of ₹60.7 million (~$734,112) each during the last three years.

The average annual turnover of bidders during the last three financial years should be at least ₹45.5 million. They should have a positive net worth as of the last day of the preceding financial year.

The successful bidder will be responsible for designing, engineering, and testing the public EV charging station, including the power infrastructure. All proposed chargers must be tested and approved by the Automotive Research Association of India or the International Centre for Automotive Technology.

Last month, Nashik Municipal Corporation invited bids for the supply, erection, installation, and commissioning of 20 EV charging stations at various locations under its jurisdiction.

Earlier, Pune Municipal Corporation had invited proposals for the commissioning, operation, and maintenance of EV charging stations for the public at designated locations in Pune. It had issued a list of 92 locations at PMC-owned parking facilities, gardens, hospitals, and auditoriums for installing charging stations.
