Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation (MMRC) has invited bids to install 2.8 MW of rooftop solar systems and associated support structure works on Aarey station and depot buildings of the Mumbai Metro Line 3 project.

The scope of work includes site survey, investigation, design, engineering, supply, installation, testing, and commissioning of rooftop solar systems within twelve months. The renewable energy service company (RESCO) model will be used for the projects.

The successful bidder must also provide comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) services for 25 years.

The last date to submit the bids is April 25, 2024. Bids will be opened the next day.

Bidders must furnish a bid security of ₹2 million (~$24,125).

The successful bidder must submit ₹10.08 million (~$121,591) as performance security.

The size of each project may be in the range of 5 kW to 1 MW or more.

Bidders should have experience in installing and commissioning solar power projects. Specifically, they must have completed grid-connected solar projects of at least 3 MW in total capacity during the last ten years. At least one of the projects should be of 750 kW.

Additionally, bidders must have completed a rooftop solar project of a minimum of 1 MW during the last ten years.

Within the last three financial years, they should have an annual turnover of at least ₹150 million (~$1.8 million) as total certified payments received for contracts in progress or completed.

The bidder needs to show that their available money after subtracting what they owe for existing contracts is at least ₹15 million (~$180,939).

The projects should comprise solar crystalline modules of a minimum of 340Wp and above wattage.

The predicted electrical degradation of power generated should not exceed 20% of the minimum rated power over the 25-year period and not more than 10% after the first ten-year period of the full rated original output.

Last April, the Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) invited bids to install rooftop solar power projects of 7.1 MW at the stations and sites of the Mumbai metro rail project.

Previously, MMRDA invited bids to install 2 MW of rooftop solar systems at Mumbai Monorail Project stations and sites.
