Egypt signed agreements for renewable energy and battery storage projects totaling 5.62 GW. The deals include wind and solar projects, as well as large-scale battery storage systems. A key project is a 900 MW wind farm in Ras Shukeir, developed by a consortium including Orascom Construction, Engie, and Toyota Tsusho. Additional agreements cover a 2,000 MW solar project in Nagaa Hammadi and a 2,000 MWh storage facility, along with smaller solar projects.

PowerChina secured a $1.9 billion contract for a solar power and energy storage project in Abu Dhabi. The project aims to improve the efficiency and reliability of renewable energy while supporting the country’s goal of generating 50% of its electricity from clean sources by 2030. The deal aims to strengthen PowerChina’s presence in the Middle East and reflects increasing collaboration between Chinese firms and regional governments.

ACWA Power announced $10 billion worth of clean energy, financing, and technology agreements at the Future Investment Initiative in Riyadh, spanning the Gulf Cooperation Council, Central Asia, China, and Africa. A major portion includes $6 billion in renewable projects in Saudi Arabia under the National Renewable Energy Program, backed by leading global banks. In Uzbekistan, the company secured financing for large-scale wind, solar, and battery storage projects, including the Samarkand solar project and Kungrad wind initiative.

US-based GameChange Solar secured a contract to supply 258 MW of solar trackers for a solar-plus-storage project in Benban, Egypt. The agreement was signed with Hassan Allam Constructions, the engineering, procurement, and construction contractor for the project, which is being developed by Infinity Power. GameChange will deploy its Genius Tracker systems to improve energy generation efficiency. This deal aims to strengthen GameChange Solar’s presence in the Middle East and Africa markets while supporting Egypt’s broader efforts to expand solar capacity and integrate storage solutions.

Japan-based Kyuden International marked its entry into North Africa with a 1 GW solar and 600 MWh battery storage project in Egypt.
