Maharashtra’s Public Works Department (PWD) of the Yavatmal Division has invited bids for installing and commissioning a 1 MW grid-connected solar project at Giroli in the Washim district of the state.

The last date to submit the bids is March 2, 2023. Bids will be opened on March 6.

The estimated project cost is ₹54.27 million (~$656,558).

The project must be completed within 300 days from the date of the written order to start the work.

Bidders will have to submit ₹271,500 (~$3,285) as an earnest money deposit. The successful bidder must furnish ₹543,000 (~$6,569) as a security deposit.

To participate in the bidding process, bidders must have executed three similar works, each costing not less than 40% of the work amount, or two similar works, each costing not less than 50% of the contract value, or one similar work amounting to 80% of the work amount in the last seven years.

Also, bidders should have executed one project with a minimum capacity of 700 kW in any one year during the last seven financial years.

They should have executed at least one power purchase agreement (PPA) with the central government, state government, or public sector undertaking organization.

Further, bidders should have a licensed electrical contract having a valid license issued by the state government.

The minimum annual turnover of bidders should be at least ₹49.51 million (~$598,972) during any one of the last seven financial years.

The successful bidder will be responsible for supplying, installing, testing, and commissioning 335 Wp polycrystalline solar modules made of 72 (12 x 6) cells.

According to the tender documents, the solar modules to be used for the project must be from the Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) issued by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy.

Last October, the City and Industrial Development Corporation of Maharashtra had invited expressions of interest from developers to set up 1.24 MW of grid-connected rooftop solar systems under a net metering arrangement atop selected railway station buildings and bridges in Navi Mumbai under the public-private partnership (PPP) model.
