The Maharashtra State Power Generation (MAHAGENCO) has invited bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) of 300 MW solar projects across Maharashtra (Phase-II).

Bids must be submitted by April 21, 2026. Bids will be opened on the same day.

Bidders must furnish an earnest money deposit of ₹100,000 (~$1,074)/MW, a tender fee of ₹25,000 (~$268), and a vendor registration fee of ₹5,000 (~$53.7).

The projects must be implemented in minimum blocks of 25 MW at a single location, with up to four locations, each capped at 25 MW. The tender specifies that each project must have a minimum capacity of 25 MW at one site.

The projects can be developed anywhere within the state, with interconnection at 33 kV and above and metering at the Maharashtra state transmission utility (STU) substations operated by Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company.

The scope of work includes the design, engineering, manufacturing, supply, erection, inspection, installation, testing, and commissioning of the solar projects, along with associated power evacuation infrastructure. It also includes testing at the manufacturer’s works, transportation, storage, insurance at all stages, civil and electrical works, and obtaining necessary permits and licences.

Additionally, the developer will be responsible for 10 years of operation and maintenance (O&M) for the solar project, switchyard, transmission lines, and extra-high-voltage bay at the STU substation.

Bidders must either have experience in the design, supply, erection, commissioning, or development of ground-mounted solar projects or must have been a developer of solar projects with a cumulative capacity of at least 30% of the quoted capacity, with at least one operational 15 MW project that has been running for at least 6 months.

Alternatively, bidders must have erected and commissioned a balance of system of solar projects with a cumulative capacity of at least 30% of the quoted capacity, with at least one operational 15 MW project that has been running for at least 6 months.

Bidders must have a minimum net worth of ₹12.5 million (~$134,200)/MW, an average annual turnover of at least ₹25 million (~$268,400)/MW over the last three financial years.

They must also possess a minimum working capital of ₹2.5 million (~$26,840)/MW.

India recorded its highest-ever annual solar capacity addition in the calendar year 2025, installing 36.6 GW, a 43% increase over the 25.6 GW added in 2024, according to Mercom India’s Q4 and Annual 2025 India Solar Market Update Report.
