MAHAGENCO Floats EPC Tender for 600 MW of Solar Projects

The Maharashtra State Power Generation Company (MAHAGENCO) has invited bids for the engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) package with land for 600 MW of solar power projects with power evacuation system in Maharashtra under the Renewable Energy Bundling Program Phase II.

Bidders must also oversee the operation and maintenance (O&M) for three years.

The last day to submit the bids is April 12, 2024. Bids will be opened on the same day.

The minimum project size at a single location should be 50 MW, and the maximum will be 300 MW.

The scope of work includes identifying and arranging required land, design, engineering, procurement of equipment and material, testing at manufacturer’s works, packing and forwarding, transportation, supply, receipt and unloading at the site, storage, insurance at all stages, associated civil works, electrical works, services, permits, licenses, installation, erection, testing, and commissioning the solar projects.

Successful bidders must also undertake the performance demonstration, operational acceptance, and power evacuation system up to Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company’s 33 kV and above substation.

Bidders must pay a tender fee of ₹11,800 (~$141) and a registration fee of ₹5,000 (~$60).

They must also submit an earnest money deposit of ₹100,000 (~$1,200)/ MW of the quoted capacity.

Bidders should have experience in EPC execution or developing ground-mounted solar projects for a cumulative capacity of not less than 30% of quoted capacity or higher capacity, of which at least one project must have 25 MW or higher capacity at a single location.

The reference project capacity must have been operating satisfactorily for six months before the bid submission deadline.

The average annual turnover of the bidders should be at least ₹25 million(~$299,986)/ MW during the last three financial years. The bidders’ net worth as of the last day of the previous financial year should not be less than ₹2.5 million (~$30,000)/ MW.

Recently, MAHAGENCO invited bids for the design, engineering, supply (except module), module unloading, erection, testing, and commissioning of 569 MW of grid-connected solar power projects.
