Kunamneni Technologies has won the order to provide comprehensive operations and maintenance (O&M) of a 92 MW floating solar project at NTPC Kayamkulam, Kerala, for three years, and a 5 MW ground-mounted solar project at Sri Vijaya Puram (Port Blair), Andaman and Nicobar Islands, for two years and nine months.

The awarded contract is valued at ₹166.72 million (~$1.85 million).

The tender was floated on July 28, 2025.

The company’s scope of work will include daily monitoring of string outages, restoring inverter trips, attending to breakdowns and tripping incidents, and restoring the system as quickly as possible.

It must also investigate all high-tension and equipment tripping incidents, with root-cause analysis submitted to NTPC.

Kunamneni must man the control room on a round-the-clock basis. The projects’ supervisory control and data acquisition systems will be the primary tools for monitoring the operating status of various equipment.

Apart from providing O&M services, Kunamneni provides components for solar projects, including solar panels, AC and DC cables, MC4 connectors, and earthing systems. The company operates in Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Odisha, Gujarat, Telangana, and Uttar Pradesh.

Kunamneni is currently maintaining more than 50 MW of solar capacity across the south, west, and northern regions of India.

In November this year, NTPC invited bids for the comprehensive O&M of its 100 MW floating solar project located at NTPC Ramagundam, Andhra Pradesh.

In September, NTPC invited bids for the bi-annual O&M of a 20 MW floating solar project and for providing manpower for a 20 MW ground-mounted solar project at NTPC’s Auraiya Gas Power Station, Dibiyapur, in Uttar Pradesh.

Earlier in the year, the Agency for New and Renewable Energy Research and Technology (ANERT) issued guidelines to support the development of floating solar projects across Kerala. The new ANERT guidelines identify two main categories of sites suitable for floating solar development.
